I just purchased a '20 SR5 Premium with 2500 miles the owner had to get out from under and he had 2" coil spacers installed. I think I'm on the right tracks that I can pair the KMC 17" Summit up with some 285-70s? The wheels are offered with 2 different specs, not sure which one, (5.46 backspace @ 18mm offset or 4.75 backspace with 0 offset)or do I need a wheel with entirely more offset? I'm assuming these are a pretty popular aftermarket wheel for 4Runner since you can purchase with the TRD center cap.

At 2” I think you’ll rub on the body mount with either wheel, especially the 0 offset one. I know some folks on here clear the 285’s on 3” of lift with the stock off road wheels which have +15mm offset.

I'm wondering if I should ditch the spacers? It seems there is zero benefit to having the spacers if larger tires just don't work...in that case I might as well go with stock size A/T snow rated tire (which is my biggest requirement). I won't be doing any extreme off roading and the SR5 is already pretty capable as a stock vehicle for my purpose to get to to trailheads.

If you’re not worried about bigger tires and won’t hit trails, I’d honestly go to a 1” in the front. Might improve your ride a little, and it’ll level it out.
