I have a 2003 that came with the double decker cargo system. But I'm missing this trim piece behind the seat. Is this trim piece different for 4Runners with or without the double decker system?
I'm talking about the yellow circled part. BTW, my car was also missing the cargo system. So I have no idea what should be here.

I would say yes as the double decker when layed flat is about 1.5 inches higher than the normal bottom but still lines up flat. I’ll double check tomorrow when I get off shift. The back is out of my truck for cleaning. And maybe snap a couple pics for you

Awesome! Thanks! Since Toyota wants like $200 for one, I'm hoping I can make one out of wood. Then glue some carpet on.

    So I find this interesting.
    I also have a 2003.
If you look at the pic in your post, the 'trim' piece seems to sit completely flush with the carpet.
If you look at the back end of the carpet, at the hatch lip, it disappears under the rear trim piece.
So that (my guess) is a non-cargo system.

If you look at mine, the trim piece is also 'flush', but its flush with the (secondary) cargo 'riser'.
I also have the carpet that disappears under the rear trim piece, but the cargo carrier does not since its designed to hinge up to a secondary riser level.
Even when in its lowered position, it sits 'proud' as you can see in this pic.
    Am I making sense?
The front 'trim' piece in both pics sits 'level' with the carpet.
But the carpet/cargo in the two pics are sitting at different heights.
So my guess is that your 'trim' piece must have come in two different heights, depending on cargo or not.

Yes upon further research it seems there are 2 different ones. One for the cargo system, one without it. Mine originally came with the cargo system but wasn't in the truck when I bought it. And I don't care to use it so I need to find one that didn't have the cargo system. It's tough searching Ebay for one because if you put in the official Toyota lingo, "cargo cover", Ebay pulls up the tonneau cover. So I'm trying to search Ebay by the part number but that only gets me new parts at over $200. I'll find one eventually. Or make one.

Check out Facebook marketplace. I am in Chattanooga area but also see part out 4runners posted all the time in different states. But as drak said the center piece lines up with the cargo shelf when its laid flat. I assume the ones without it sit lower.

and maybe it’s just the way it looks in the picture but the one you posted looks like that piece is on an angle upward towards the seats
