I'm wanting to add two amps to a 2007 Limited 4runner, one for the speakers and a mono for a sub. Upgrading the JBL system. The sub amp I can integrate into the box for the rear sub going into the stock position but I'd really like to place the amp for the speakers under a seat. Both have HVAC ducts and the last thing I want to do is dump heat on an amp that will have limited ventilation to begin with. Has anyone done anything creative in this vein; rerouted ducts, blocked them off, etc? Passenger side or driver's side? I'm thinking passenger side as that seat doesn't adjust up and down so the clearance stays set versus the full adjustments on the driver's seat.

I guess the other option is to come up with a sub that uses less of the stock subwoofer space and try t0 fit both amps back there?

Honestly, I would just cut up a sock and stick it in the vent and call it a day, quick and easy fix.
Any other option would involve cutting carpet to allow for a new venting situation.
I would just block it off and fuggedaboudit.
With a new stereo install, there's already enough to sweat without adding to the pile.

PS, I'm in the middle (nearly done now tho) of a new install myself.
Just out of curiosity, why don't you just use a single 5 channel amp?
This is a Picasso Nano 5.64 5 channel that has a dedicated channel for the sub.
Two separate amps just seems like an awful lot of trouble unless you plan on blowing out the neighborhood regularly.
I built my own 'stealthbox' 10" sub enclosure that will sit exactly as the typical stealthboxes do, right in front of the amp and crossovers.
I re-purposed the JBL box to fit the amp and crossovers.

I unplugged the ducting going under the seats and stapled the vents shut where they plug in. I never have passengers in the back, so to me they were not needed going forward. Tons of room for a 5 channel amp and fuse blocks under the seats.
