    LOL nice.

Couldn't agree more. Maybe it's because I was a teen at the time my dad got that Supra, but no car has ever felt more special to me. Inside and out, and the way it would fishtail with ease, that car was the absolute coolest. I also think it was the best looking Supra ever and still is one of the best looking mainstream sports cars of all time.

I had thought of my M235i as a kind of successor to that Supra -- 2+2 coupe, straight six, manual trans and RWD -- but alas it couldn't hold a candle to the Supra when it came to driving feel.

Here's what my M235 looked like with it's winter tire and wheel set. Similar long-nose proportions as the Supra.

I'm torn between 2nd and 3rd gen for my favorite. Even 1st gens had a cool look. And, whenever I see a 4th gen, I think how well that design has held up. It doesn't look like a 27 year old car to me.

A second gen is a great platform because they're light. But, I remember being impressed with the handling of the MKIII I drove. I would lean toward a MKIII because a 1jz is a plug and play swap (was stock motor in Japan).

I love all these photos of the past cars in your lives, too cool! Thanks for sharing, everyone! Ok, I'm not known as Oldtoyotaguy for nothing, so I thought it would be fun to share a photo of my first car - not the best, but my first, haha. This was long ago, and so different from the cool photos you guys are sharing, but it goes to show how a love for cars begins.
It's a 1951 Morris Oxford, that I convinced my father to buy for me as a project car. We worked on it together, and everything I know about cars started here. It took me a long time to convince my parents to do this, as I was delivering newspapers at the time, and probably about 12-13 years old in the photo. It cost $65, which was about 6 months of delivering newspapers. My mom wasn't sure that she wanted a junky old car in the driveway but I convinced her it would run and look good. I painted it myself in the garage with an old compressor and beat up sprayer. It was British Racing Green.

What is that for a car or should I say a chassis? It would never pass a safety check in Canada, haha.

That is awesome! I definitely wasn't as ambitious as you in my youth. What a cool story!

This is all I got right now. I gotta dig hard to find it in action been over 10 years.

If I wouldn’t have been laid off a couple of years after i bought it new, I’d probably still be driving my ‘02 Tundra. The 4Runner, however, wins out for having a secure cargo area stock, no cap or tonneau needed. The old Tundra for my single life, the 4Runner is best for my family life. I also trust it to last a gazillion miles.

Now if we’re talking fun street vehicles...the list is much different!

Most recent fun car was my ‘67 Cougar, I’ve got a ‘68 Mustang I’m working on now, it’s almost road worthy. I had a pair of CRX Si (‘85, ‘90) that were really fun cars! ‘69 Bronco that I barely ever had the top or doors on, ‘92 Miata, ‘04 RX8, ‘90 Saab 900 Turbo, ‘79 MGB, basically all over the board. The current Mustang is the only one on the list to not have a manual transmission.

I’ve had a lot of turds, too. ‘85 Cherokee was the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned, followed closely by my ‘96 Yukon, a truck I loved, but it didn’t love me.

My 2007 GT I owned until February of 2019. Bought her brand new, and as a daily driver, she was extremely reliable. Granted, i did not drive it in the snow or ice, but for nearly 60,000 miles, she needed just basic maintenance. The 2013 GT500 will NOT be a daily driver, has only a squeak over 12,000 miles. She will see maybe 1,000 - 1,500 miles per year. I hope the reliability and low mileage will make her one of my favorites.

While not my first car, the ‘67 convertible was one of my first project cars. My wife and I both had ‘67s back in our high school days, which is how the ‘68 came to be in the garage now. It was a project that we could both easily agree on!

My 2011 FJ Cruiser was my best and favorite vehicle. Bought it new and drove it for 9 years until I sold it to my son this past June and bought my 4Runner. Did I ever feel sad when I saw it drive away. At least I get to see it occasionally. This pic was taken just before I sold it.

Love my 16 4Runner, it's as good as anything I've ever driven. For cars that I've primarily owned:

    1. '01 Tacoma 2wd 2door. I think you could set off a small explosion in the bed and so long as you weren't driving it at the time you might not notice. Simple, well constructed, indestructible.
    2. '16 4Runner LE 4wd. It's as good as advertised.
    3. '08 Honda Ridgeline. This truck is better than people expect it to be. It does the things it says it will do and it has Honda reliability.

    4. '11 Cannondale road bike. It's a great bike but I've only added it here to add space between the good vehicles I've had and my first vehicle.

    5. '94 Pontiac Firebird v6. It looked great and turned young heads, but what a dog of a vehicle this was. I've driven several US-brand vehicles but this is the only I've owned, and it left a sour taste.

    Cheap stuff
I'm 40 this year and I've gone through a few cars, and I think the cars will reflect my age.

age 18 to 30 - first car 1998 Civic EX Coupe 5 Speed. Around the same time frame, I also drove a 1996 Civic EX Sedan Auto - My parents car/older brothers car
    25 to 29 - 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander Auto.
30 to present - 2007 Audi A4 Avant(wagon) quattro Auto. I bought it because my Civic got totaled and I wanted a versatile, utilitarian, european car for my active lifestyle.
35 to present - 2004 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 2.7 extra cab 2x4 auto, I bought a house and I need a tool better than the wagon for those home depot trips.
40 bought this year - 2015 4Runner Trail w/ KDSS - I got married last year and started to like the offroad lifestyle, thanks to the Tacoma. Due to Covid, haven't traveled much.

I liked each one of my cars. The one thing I truly miss is my 1998 Civic EX Coupe, because it's a 5 Speed. As a gearhead, I do miss throwing that shifter and using my left foot. This is how I learned how to drive a stick, my dad even triple checked with me that if I wanted a manual before purchasing the car. I said yes, because I wanted to learn. Actually the very first car I've driven is when I was 11, my dad's owner type jeep from Philippines. It was a manual and that's the first time I learned how to press and release the clutch to move the car without stalling it.

This probably sounds crazy, lol... but my 2010 Jeep JKU was my favorite by far. It was built for pretty much anything... caged, armored, locked f/r, oba, hydro assist steering, supercharged... I drove it to the trails, did a bunch of stupid stuff, drove it home, and still drove it to work most everyday (things did still occasionally break, but it was surprisingly resilient, especially given what I put it through). Only got rid of it because it was a manual, and I injured my right shoulder and had a hard time driving it. Then I bought a brand new 2015 JKUR that was total garbage. Every time I looked at it something new was broke, it was ridiculous; and also the vehicle that led me to Toyota.

99 Boxster was the most fun to drive but maintenance cost was high. Nothing beats the feel of a mid engined two seater with a 50/50 weight balance. My favorites overall are Toyotas and Lexus, had a lot of them, have a 14 T4R and a 17 Taco now.

I had a MGB in the early 70s, typical British POS, the nickel and dime you to death? More like fifties and hundreds, regularly! Chick magnet in college for sure and of course was red. Fun convertible but the Boxster was perfect. Electric convertible top and also had the matching hardtop. lovedittoomuch.

2” front lift, 1” back, Victory Blitz bumper, Baja 20” light bar and Engo 10k winch
1974 Ford Bronco, 4” lift, 302, Warn bumper with winch, Detroit locker, soft top, it was a bulletproof beast that would go anywhere. I should have never sold it but did when our first daughter was born. number two would be a 1986 Honda Accord hatchback I got it college. Front wheel drive that went to many backwood fishing holes (loved the looks I would get from all the 4X4 drivers) and many snowy roads to go skiing. Bought it with 7k miles on it and sold it with 110k on for $3,000.00 less than I paid for it.

I'm hoping that when you ask me this in ten years, I'll say my 2020 4Runner. Prior to that, it's my 1990 Honda Prelude Si which I bought secondhand from a preacher and drove through college before foolishly trading it in the minute I started drawing a "grown up" paycheck.

I love those! I'm hoping to get one when the 4runner is paid off.
