Airbag light on several days now. After disconnecting battery, took both seats loose, turned them up, unplugged and re-plugged connectors and checked wiring. Nothing obviously wrong. Looked in Chilton manual which mentions explosive seat belt pre-tensioners. Also says don't disconnect their electrical connections which will turn on SRS light. Says take vehicle to dealer service department, which I am trying to avoid. Light still on after putting everything back together.
Is there anything else I can do? I should mention that my el-cheapo scan tool doesn't read manufacturers codes, so I have no airbag codes. Also neither Advance or O Reilly are reading codes now.
BTW, I love this site and read several posts as guest, before biting join bullet.

So it needs a new clock spring? Light is intermittent.

Not sure if it's intermittent, still a possibility.

To determine my clock spring was bad I purchased a second scanner that could read SRS and TPMS codes, a bit pricey but I can look up things my old scanner could not.
