It's agitating when all they need to do is dip and coat, or better material. Give the consumer the option verses Satellite radio and a moon roof. Yes, most of us that are buying a 4 wheel drive is because we live where it snows. N.S.S! If I lived in Florida I wouldn't need one.

Yes, maybe slide it back into place and JB weld it. With an angle bracket?

Rust never sleeps. Tranny blew 3 yrs ago on my ‘05 sr5. Spent $400 to get it ready for the shop, & now I remember bout the rust issues. Lesson learned. Aargh!

Do you seriously think Toyota will cover that? My whole front cross member, where the tie down hooks are/were is totally shot. Going to get it replaced at a local body/collision shop. They have been around forever and gave me what I think is a reasonable estimate...

Wonder if there are any updates to this lawsuit.. Having trouble finding dated material online. Should I just contact the law firm directly? Replacing a seized brake caliper this weekend led me to find my lower radiator support is nearly gone among several other very bad spots.

Damn. Figures mine is a 2003 and am just finding this out now. I need to get it fixed now so can't wait for what might happen. Actually, the front half of the frame looks like it has been soaking in salt water. The back half not so much, still in good shape.

My 2005 SR5 4runner (150,000 miles) has virtually no rust on the frame and none on body. Hoping for another 15 years of low maintenance drivability.

    Nassau, Bahamas

This car was built in Japan and sent directly to the dealer in the Bahamas, and never landed in the USA.
