Hi there. I tried to figure this out, seems like it can be the sun-roof, the a/c drain hose, leak around seal in windshield, or heater coil???. A/C drain hose is draining ok, sun-roof looks good (we never open it) and I would hate to rip all of it apart.... It gets a ton of water, doesn't seem like its coolant (wouldn't that be a greenish color?). Seems to be plain ol' water. I am not sure how to look in there further, should I remove the glove box? Any help would be appreciated!! I used to have a Camry until it had almost 300k miles and I worked on it a lot. I am one of those weird females that enjoys fixing things myself. Thanks !

    Checked it out more -
Don’t think it’s windshield or a/c drain- now thinking maybe a blocked channel drain on Roof. Removed the cap over the rack attachments and thinking something under there is blocked. Not exactly sure yet until I get the 2 screws off od the rack plate so I can see under. Weird shaped screws.

I had that and water was coming in from a poor windshield seal. Get inside and have someone run a hose over the edges. I could see water coming down the a pillar

so it only happens when it rains? those screws are probably Torx (star) bolts. do you see water stains on the headliner?

    I don’t think it’s the windshield...
I don’t see any stains on the headliner but when I ran a hose over the roof I noticed that after a bit the water was coming in at the front over by door side up underneath. Good to know the name of those bolts- was at the store trying to find the right size/shape. I was thinking the water is running forward down the roof and down the right side into the passenger right side.

I did not have stains in the headliner it ran down the pillar. Make sure to get the water out if the padding.

Ok maybe it is the windshield then. Can I fix that myself or should I go to a glass place? May as well try it. Not sure what else to do.

Glass place will be able to test the seal.

I fixed the leak!!!!! I opened the sunroof and there is a drain hole on either side of the car at the front corners of the sunroof. I stick a flexible rubber wire into it and gently twisted and pushed it through as far as I could (about 2 ft), and now there is no more water pouring in!! I am so happy. Thanks for everyone’s help and suggestions!

Same thing happened to me. I found that string trimmer line works very well to clean out the drains. Glad to hear you fixed it!

Oh, I always keep a good length of trimmer lile tucked away in the jack compartment just in case. I use I think the 0.095" size line or the closest to it if I am wrong. Hope you keep on top of this very minor thing, you wouldn't want to to go on leaking for too line!

That’s a good idea. Hoping it doesn’t happen again too soon. I cleaned out both sides so fingers crossed!

And do yourself a favour, keep the sunroof closed when you park it at least overnight. Even on tilt crud can get in there and clog any one of the drains. These maple trees now are good at that :)

This is why I am not a fan of sun roofs. A ways back I had a 2002 focus with a sunroof and spring time oak pollen would clog all 4 drain lines without fail every year.

Like everyone else has said, weed eater string works great. So does an air compressor.
