    Hello,
Got my 4runner 2004 v8 last month and I'm not satisfied with the sound.
2 weeks ago I removed the silenciador (middle muffler), removed the last stock muffler (stock) and installed chambered muffler. The sound is better, lower, but you can't hear anything on idle.
If I will remove the catalytic converter, the sound will get better on idle as well?
Basically I want to achieve crackle note on idle.
    Thanks experts.
In addition, I'll be glad if someone can lead me to exist thread regarding catalytic vs without.

I had a Gibson cat-back on my '03. It sounded nice, but droned on the freeway.

A bit of a hijack here but what would happen if one were to eliminate the resonator at the tail pipe on a V8...

I did it, including the silencer.
Today I was stuck in traffic for like 3 hours, mpg dropped to 8. Horrible. Screenshot_20200905-204030.jpg
