160k miles. V6 automatic. Guy is asking $3k for it.

33"KM2s, 4.88s, Spartan Locker, TG rear bumper, AllPro Kickout sliders, 4Crawler 1.5" BJS, OME 2" Dakar springs.
Climb underneath and check the box frame. They rust from the inside out. Any maintenance records? Any recent work done? Head gaskets replaced? Receipts? Looks nice n clean. If it all checks out then $3K is a fair price. Good luck.

Really appreciate your reply. Guy says it's solid. No issues, dash lights, or leaks. He says the frame is solid and gave me a this photo. Wife and I are probably going to look at it this Sunday. What do you think of the lift? Kind of looks like it's squatting to me. This would be my first 4runner so I really don't know what I'm looking for.

I hope what they coated or painted the frame they are not hiding anything. Looks fresh under there.

The suspension could of been done that way on purpose. For some reason some people like the ass end down more.

Hmmm... that frame looks suspiciously clean and freshly painted. Take a screwdriver with you and climb underneath and poke around the frame. Don’t know where you’re from but 4rnrs from the East and midwest are prone to frame rust. The 3.0 is notorious for BHG- blown head gaskets. Im sure he’s nice guy but it’s your hard earned $$$. He’s trying to sell it. Do your due diligence. Check YouTube out. There’re some vids about what to look for.

Thanks for the input! Will definitely stab the frame. We're in southern Indiana so they don't really salt the roads down here. Shouldn't blown head gasket show on the dash light?

Not necessarily. It depends upon the severity of the break. Look for white smoke out the tailpipe upon startup. I’d be leery if it’s warmed up when you get there.

As other's have mentioned; that frame has either received a protective coat to thwart off winters/salt, or it has been coated to hide imperfections.

Where is the rear bumper? As others have said, thoroughly check the frame, does look painted. Check all fluids too and check and see when was the last time timing belt was done and if head gasket was replaced. Also check and see if steering rack was replaced. There was a recall for it back in the early 2000's.

From what I have read and watched the motors are pretty strong.
Thanks for your reply. If f it's been recalled and hadn't been replaced yet then Toyota should still cover it shouldn't they?

I would take the VIN to Toyota and find out if it had been done and if not, will they do it? You may be able to do that online too.

I’m with the rest, that paint raises red flags bigtime. He did it purely for cosmetics or he’s hiding something. One or the other. Kinda curious why rims are different from one side to the other too.

Good luck, hope everything checks out and you bring it home.

Nice catch. Did not even notice that. That is very odd. Numerous red flags on this one.

Definitely bad vibes if the guy can’t answer those questions. Looks like he’s flipping it, and is covering up some heartaches.

Maybe he got new wheels and the pics are from different times?

Well if you are trying to sell something wouldn't you post recent pics?

I think it makes more sense that the pics are from different times than someone driving around with two different sets of rims on their rig. How many cars do you see driving around with different wheels on either side of the vehicle? Not trying to start an argument just saying there may be a perfectly logical explanation.

You would be surprised around here. Front back side to side different rims all over the place.

Not to mention people rolling on spares for weeks.

It was just an observation from pics posted. Not intended to be fraudulent on my end. You would think if your trying to sell a vehicle that pics would be consistent All around.
