Premium is, in my opinion, a better buy than KDSS. I see NO situation which I will encounter where "man I could have done that obstacle with KDSS". Instead, peemium gets you a plethora of interior upgrades that make it just s better place to be for daily driving. Which, to be honest, is where you're spending 90% of your time even if you're an off road enthusiast. Ill be upgrading shocks snd springs regardless. Im not saying those replace a fat-disconnectable sway bar but it will exceed my needs. BTW let's just stop about on road handling... you bought a 4runner (or claim to) and on road manners are the least of your concerns, as is MPG.

Considering you started this thread, with the statement that KDSS was a "deal breaker, and drives like a completely different vehicle", that last statement doesn't make sense. I guess you've done a complete 180 since you can't seem to find one...:notsure:

Not to mention this. Lets stop talking about on road but yet we are driving there 90% of the time?

Hey runner fan 82, that must be why it’s an option, eh? Not everyone thinks the same or feels the same way.

You can have both. I do. The premium package gives you fake leather heated seats. KDSS is a suspension option. They have nothing to do with each-other.

KDSS is designed to keep your tires on the ground better in off camber situations. Maybe you can live without it, but it's definitely an advantage at times.

Why wouldn't I care about on road manners? It's my daily driver. You even said:

And, I'll take every MPG I can get. I realize that it will never get "good" fuel economy, but I don't want to throw money away, either.

I feel like a lot was lost due to lack of tone.

KDSS is Fn great. Im surprised more trucks don't have a version of it. I did pick up a 2020 ORP without it due to my travel restrictions and dealer stock. I sold my X5 and needed a T4R with urgency, I definitely didn't want to compromise and buy a tacoma, we're a SUV family for sure. I know i went back on my original post but between dealer stock and travel restrictions I had to eat it snd pick one up without KDSS. Im just saying im not unhappy it doesn't have it. I test drove a 2017 with KDSS and it certainly felt better especially in sweeping turns. The first non kdss T4R I drove was gge one I bought sight unseen. I though it would drive MUCH worse without it but im content with my decision. Im not hating on runners with it nor am I saying I'm taking sides JUST because I bought one without it. Im saying for my needs its fine. It tows my other toys like a champ and im comfortable while doing it. I haven't bought a new car since 2013 (a loaded bmw) and technology has come a very long way. Android auto, bigger screen, premium audio, dynamic navigation, short cuts for just about any setting is nice! The lsne keep and hyper sensitive radar cruise is gimicky at best but some people like that stuff. Its easily turned off WITH A SHORTCUT BUTTON...knock knock BMW.
