I am adding a transmission cooler (B&M 70264) to my 2008 4runner. How much extra trans fluid should I add to account for the volume needed with the additional cooler. Has anyone tried to prefill the add on cooler during the install? Thanks for any help!

i added with the motor off at least a half quart, then with the motor on i topped it off. i didn't try profiling the trans cooler

Thanks for the reply. Any recollection how much the "top off" consisted of. The install looks pretty easy but I'm a little nervous about the process of getting the fluid level correct since there is no dipstick.

i can't really speak to that because i have a dipstick, but if you calculate the coolers capacity and how much the lines will use that might get you close
