Ok, stupid question. I asked for my front to be raised to 1.75 on my 2015 trail 4runner. How Can i be sure they didn't raise it to 2.5? I can see the clip with the notches under it but can't see any above the black piece. any help appreciated.
i did not have Toyota do this. I had a local shop that does lifts but never with bilsteins.

You can check Bilstein's website under the specific shocks you had installed, and there should be directions specifying which notch provides 1.75 in of lift. Then, check your truck to see which notch the clip is in. Otherwise, you can measure from the center of your hub to the edge of your fender. But, without a measurement from before the lift you'll just be guessing.

I have the 5100's that have 4 notches. I wanted it at the 3rd notch which is 1.75. The notch over that is the highest. The problem is I can see the bottom 2 notches but can't tell if its set at 1.75 because that black piece over the clip is blocking both the top 2 notches. I guess my question is, for those that have it set at 1.75 can you see the 2.5 notch above the black clip?

Measure hub to fender prolly can give you a good idea.

    I was at 19 3/4" & 19" before lift in the front.

    I don't have Bilstein but I went 3" I'm at 22" both sides now.

This. All 4Rs heights vary a little.

Since you don't have the starting hub to fender measurement just let us know what you have now and you can get your ball park lift height.

From looking at the vehicle it looks to still have a slight forward rake, maybe .5-.75 inches. i do have a one inch rear spacer as well. Maybe if the fronts were set at 2.5 with the one inch rear spacer I wouldn't have any forward rake?

Short of using a laser level the most accurate way to measure is bottom of your rim to the fender. Then subtract 50% of your rim to give accurate center hub.
    My 17" rims are 18.5" so I subtract 9.25

I have the TRD rims so same size as yours. I'm at 22.5 measuring your way

    Unless I'm thinking to hard how does 1/2 a 17" rim = 9.25?

Just go from the center of your rim (doesn't need to be 100% accurate) straight up to the fender. If you are indeed 22.5" you are at 3" of lift and no where near the 1.75" you are looking for. How much did you lift the rear if any?

I missed the rear spacer. If you still got a rake I don't think you are at 3" in the front.

My before and after. And I'm pretty level to my eyes. The rear stock is about a incher higher to start.
Measurements Before Lift (Center of hub to fender)
    Both Rear's - 22"
    Passenger Front - 19"
    Driver Front - 19 3/4"

    After
    Rear - 24”
    Front - 22”

The rim diameter physically measures 18.5... divide by 2= 9.25

even if the front is at 2.5 with a one inch rear spacer I wouldn't have forward rake correct?

It would probably be close to level since the rear starts higher.

If you still got rake I'd assume you are close to the 1.75.

Again though not all 4Rs are the same height. So only real way to tell would be to have a before and after.

2C070677-0E5D-4E1F-A97D-CD6A1485FF58.jpgDrive way I should say is pretty close to level but here’s a picture a few days later and it looks like the front has come down a bit and settled. To me it looks like there’s a slight forward rake.
If it is set at 2.5 I actually like it. i'll probably change the one inch rear spacer to a 1.5 inch.

Why don't you just take a tape measure from the ground to the fender and see how tall it is. I know the initial discussion was on what setting it is but if you want to know if they are level then measure it.

Also, I think it looks great. I put bilsteins all around, didn't add new springs or spacers to the rear and mine is damn near the same height front and back. Mine is only at .85 in the front though. I wanted it level for now.

I just had Bilstein 5100's installed at 1.75" in the front last week myself and IIRC I was still able to see the top notch above the part where the coil sits. Are you able to provide a picture of the front shock so we can see what you're looking at?

Not the greatest angles but here's before and after with 1.75" in the front and 1" Cornfed spacer in rear.
