I recently purchased my 4Runner and am wanting to purchase running boards or nerf bars, any suggestions?

A few things here and there. Still dreaming up stuff
I second sliders. You have them built to work like a nerf bar but when you and if you use them they will not give and not have to shell out 300 bucks to replace them. See were I'm going with this.

I am new to this forum but have been a Tacoma forum member for about a year. The wife has been driving a 2012 4Runner SR5 Premium for a bit over a year. I installed a set of Dee Zee NX running boards on her ride just after she bought it. Yesterday we traded hers for a 2015 SR5 Premium. The dealer told me the running board brackets off the 2012 will fit on the new 2015, which would save me the trouble and expense of buying new ones. Does anyone know if the brackets will indeed fit the 2015? If not, is it possible to buy new brackets and retro fit the boards on them? Anyone who can shed some light on this would be appreciated. Thanx!

I got the NFAB nerd i mean nerf steps. I do not intend on jacking my truck up the first few years I buy it and couldn't stomach welding anything to the frame when the truck is less than a month old. But can't guarantee that. :)

Apparently no one knew, which is understandable. So, we picked up the new Runner the other day. I kept the weathertech floorliners, the weathertech bug deflector and side vent deflectors, as well as the aforementioned Dee Zee running boards off the 2012 we traded off. The floorliners don't quite fit right so I ordered a new set. The bug shield and side vent deflectors fit so we save a little money on those. The running board brackets fit the bolt holes under the rocker panels, no problem. However, they are several inches too long which means the running boards are pretty close to the pavement when mounted, plus you see a lot of the bracket. They looked terrible, so I ordered a different set. After I sell the floorliners and Dee Zee's I will be out about $100 altogether. Not too bad.
