Land Cruiser 200 Heritage Edition is the subject of an interesting review in the July 2020 Road & Track. I've been curious about these high end, $90k rigs for some time, and I had high expectations about them after seeing them glamorously shown in recent war films & tv set in Afghanistan & middle east. BTW, the last Land Cruiser I've driven was a FJ60 in the mid 80's.
Anyway, the R&T guys really panned the fancy gen 5 LC200, getting it stuck & dinged up in rather mild terrain. It does look comfy and very luxurious however.
Makes me appreciate my T4R all that much more.

Those guys are car guys and have no idea what they are doing when it comes to off-roading. I stopped reading them due to that. That said, better tires on the LC would make a huge difference. Motortrend is another one I quit reading. They had a Best Rock Climber test and the Jeep Cherokee won due to the Hemi it had.

Seemed to me that they got a lot of it right. All the layers of gadgetry & comfort & bling got in the way of function.

Without doing programming and understanding what the myriad of buttons all do and using them, it's impossible to successfully take the vehicle off the pavement.
