other than aesthetic changes, just a leveling kit 2.5 in, 33in tires, and new control arms, breaks, etc..
hey guys. i’m new to this forum but i just got my hands on a 2004 SR5 and i’ve been thinking about getting a new exhaust system. i saw a video online of a flowmaster 40 series and i liked the sound of that one. i just looking for one that sounds more aggressive but not obnoxiously loud and i wouldn’t mind more power but i wouldn’t want anything functionality-wise to change. preferably in the $300-$350 range.
    any thoughts??

Welcome to the forum, if the rest of the exhaust pipes are in good shape, just cut the muffler out, and put the 40 in, See how you like it.

what are some signs of a bad exhaust? is the muffler the only thing that really changes the sound of the exhaust?

Visible holes, bad rust, rattling sound from the muffler. The pipe from the cat back to the tip will not make a noticeable difference in sound.
