    Hey everyone,
I know the max is to lift your 4runner with suspension is 3in. But what is a good brand to make it between 4in - 6in lift. I know you would have to replace some parts to make it that high. I’m still debating to lift it higher. And still doing some research. But I wanna hear other people’s opinions.

My honest opinion is lifts over 3” look stupid.

Two ways to get higher than 3". One is 3" suspension and body lift (not sure if body lifts are even available for 5th gen.), the other is drop bracket lift. The commonly held belief on drop bracket lifts is that they are for looks and don't perform as well as the standard 3" suspension. Also I'm pretty sure they require cutting out a cross member and replacing with the drop bracket cross member. This is not easily reversed.

How would you make a 3in suspension lift to a 4in. I actually just want to add one more inch.

@Normantaco i figured the 6in would’ve been too much. I wasn’t trying to make it look more like a car show. I would rather have the performance than the look. But I’ve been told that a 1in spring spacers is one way to make a 3in lift to a 4in. What’s your opinion on that. I’ve done research. But having hard time to make my 3in to a 4in.

Not sure why, but you don’t see many (any?) 5th gen 4 runners with extreme lifts, although I’m sure they’re out there if you google images. You do see 4 Runners with 35” tires, which is pretty radical, imho, if you do it right and regear. Even the companies that do extreme lifts for the Taco, like BDS, don’t offer one for a 4 Runner. Of course, why would you need that much lift anyway, it wouldn’t gain you much in off road performance for all the hassle it would be.
