I know this is gonna sound strange but if any of you still have the factory roof rack, I would love to see what the top arches look like on the top. I am speaking of the top high arches. Mine have a groove end to end and it looks like something is supposed to go in there, but is missing on mine. Right now it just looks like a giant water catcher. I am guessing some sort of movable attachment channel or rubber bumper? :notsure:

    Pics would be amazing.

The rack in the bottom of this picture. There is also one just like it in the front.

This is after I repainted them and reinstalled them. The two rails in question are the ones at the bottom of the picture.

There is a rubber insert that goes there. Can’t take a pic of mine cause I’m not close to it right now.

Guess it's time to hit the junkyard and see if I can find any. My local Toyota dealer was not even able to get me another adjustment wheel bolt for that assembly....I was missing one.....found one that would work from the J.yard. Thanks!

Nothing is more fun than scavenging through a junk yard in search of rare parts for an old car. There’s still a few around that you let you walk through, but it’s a disappearing pleasure.

Well success was had at my favorite junk yard. Luckily this is a super clean yard with all the vehicles on concrete that is kept clean. I managed to find 2 of the rubber inserts for the top rails. Let me tell you they were far easier to remove than reinstall! It took me over 30 minutes a piece and several swear words :censored: as well as vise grips and silicone grease. Never do I wish to do that again. But on the bright side...it is now done and my roof rack is complete! I finally drove the Runner home tonight.
