I love my Pro wheels, but I am a little surprised to see a few very small surface scratches on 2 of them. I am very careful when I wash them, but I have to admit I may have done it myself. Has anyone experienced these wheels scratching VERY easily? What about a thin sharpie or other art type marker that could conceal them? The scratches are very small and thin, maybe only 3/4 of an inch. Does anyone know what exact color the rims are so that I can try to find some touch up paint? Thanks!
This is the wheel brush I have:

Throw that brush in the trash, the metal loop is what scratches your wheels.

I’ve one like it and never used it because those steel wires scare the crap out of me. I use retired wash mitten for wheels.

I am going to back to my mitten. I had thought I was being super careful, and not scrubbing that hard. I do think, however, that they should not have scratched that easily. Oh well, live and learn.

If you spray them with a good wheel cleaner just use a microfiber rag. That’s all I do and you will not scratch them.

I always use my DA polisher with a microfiber disk and start with a light compound to remove rim scratches. Most rims have clearcoat for this reason. Once done I follow-up with a ceramic coating for the next time

They are very small, and a little hard to spot if you don't know they are there. I'll get some pictures posted later today.

My TRD ORP wheels got all scratched up.... in the rocks. My sliders are scratched up too.

Here is the deal with paint scratches and chips on the body and wheels. You need to use paint to fix them. Black marker will not work, it turns purple. Also, the paint does not need to match exactly and you are lucky with black rims. I believe those wheels are a satin black. I would get a can of Rustoleum Satin Black spray paint, shake it up really well and spray some into the cap. Then use a toothpick and the paint you sprayed in the cap to touch up your rims. Might not match exactly if you get one foot away and stare at it in the sun, but for 99% of the people, they will never know your wheels were ever scratched.

Also, never forget, you know all the flaws of your vehicle better than anyone else. Took me a while to realize folks did not see the flaws I saw when I looked at my vehicles. Once I started looking at them through a stranger's eyes, I realized they were pretty nice after all.

I am very particular about how my truck looks. 99% of people would probably not notice these.20200625_060958.jpg 20200625_061005.jpg 20200625_061026.jpg

I totally understand. I was just looking at one of my cars that I just had painted. It is parked while the paint cures. If I get at just the right angle with just the right light I can see some flaws from the prep work. Not going to fly with me. Once it is fully cured, I will have it professionally polished to ensure a perfectly smooth finish. It's a curse.

Now that I see those scratches on your wheels, I am thinking the only way to get rid of those is probably going to be an airbrush.

You could probably improve those scratches by hand with Meguiars ScratchX And a foam pad.

Cool, I think Ill try that first. They almost look like there was some metal transfer from the brush, and maybe not an actual scratch in the paint.

Are those matte finish or clear coat? ScratchX is fine on clear. Not sure about matte.

Maybe try a test spot on the inside of the wheel first. Make sure it doesn’t screw up the finish.

They are matte which is why I am reluctant to try anything.

Depending how deep it is most detail shops, or a buddy could buff that (or most of it) out

I find the wheels and the MGM paint both scratch easily. I actually hate both and wish I went with white TRD Pro. My wheels are the biggest pain in the ass to clean and keep looking good. I don't really care anymore since this is easiest vehicle I have ever had to scratch or ding. So I'm going to beat the hell out of it until I get rid of it.

I will add that Dr Beasleys's Matte wheel sealant work pretty well at hiding scratches.

I threw out that wheel brush, but I am done stressing myself out over every little thing. I'll keep it clean, make it dirty when I want, and move on with my life!:burnrubber:

I ordered both products from Dr. Beasley’s on Amazon. The sealant and wheel cleaner. Have not tried it yet.

lol, I had a 2019 white and found it scratched easy as heck. My 20 MGM pro did not scratch at all so went MGM on the 20 orp. All 3 had the same paint prep and cheap dyi ceramic coating

I paid on Amazon for both 12 oz. bottles 19.99 each. Much cheaper.

I've found I didn't need the wheel cleaner. Just normal spraying off and then once a month for the sealant and they look decent. Still hate the wheels though.
