How to remove seat rails ?

Is there a way to slide the rails all the way off, either forwards or backwards ? I am using seats from a 2004-5 in a project and I would like to add a mounting spot in the middle of the rail. I think some dimples are pressed into the metal after the rails are made to keep them from going to far either direction.
