Which kenwood are you running? Liking it better than the T9? Did you install the maestro unit? Stock rear-view camera working normally?

And yeah man, i think the painted inner bezel on this one looks much better. Still not perfect, but breaks it up a little better.

Been really debating on whether or not i want to install the radio myself or pay a shop to do it. 2 different quotes from 2 different shops are both about $200 bucks with programming the maestro unit and bypassing the parking break "safety" feature. Im not a big fan of doing electrical stuff, but at $200 im tempted to attempt it. And i cant get an appointment for install until July 3rd or August.... And im not that patient LOL

I have the DMX906S, with the Maestro. Rear view camera works great, and I did the simple mod of grounding the parking break wire so I can turn on the rear camera at anytime. It also does wireless carplay, and will display TMPS too (not sure if you're 4R displays this on OEM system or not, but my TRDOR did not). Sound quality is excellent, which was my only real dig about the T9... it's sound quality wasn't terrible by any means, but it was definitely not great; that and the audio issue where listening to music over carplay would intermittently skip and pop.

Self install isn't really that bad. Especially if you order from Crutchfield and opt for their ready harness; then it is all 100% plug and play (aside from maybe grounding out the light lime green parking break wire thing, which is pretty quick and easy to do). It seems like a ton of wires and plugs, but once you start connecting things together, it all becomes pretty clear where everything should go.

Thanks for the info bro!! I got the DMX907s on the way, which is basically the same thing you have, just the 2020 model, from my research nothing much has changed. ANd no my 4R doesnt show tire pressure either, one of the main reasons i added the maestro unit.

I was told the rear camera should work anytime by just pressing the camera button. The only thing i thought the parking break was needed for was to get to certain settings or to play any videos through mirror or android auto ???

I ordered from crutchfield, but they said the ready harness wasnt an option for the 907s, because it is so new... Which is crazy because its pretty much the same thing as the 906. I did get their wire connectors and their stripper tool which looks easier than my basic crimp/stripper tool i already have. I guess once it gets here i will start pulling the dash and look to see and see if i think it would be a pain or not.

    Tire rotation and alignment today.

Very happy with my Firestone Destination A/T's and my Lifetime Alignment purchase. Money well spent.

I'm all over the place for tires right now. I go back in forth from Toyo Open Country AT IIIs to General Grabber ATs to WildPeaks. I need to figure it out because my rims arrive Friday.

I read some not so great reviews from a notable Youtube 4runner guy. Kinda spooked me on the T9, otherwise, I was all in. The unit looks great.

    Tough decision.

Here is my initial review of the Destination A/T's and what went into my thought process behind the the purchase. There might be a point of difference or a consideration in there that will help you narrow down your choices.

A murder of crows was feasting on some carcass in the middle of the road on my morning surf check.

They all got out of the way, except one.

It hit the front passenger side bumper hard enough to unclip it. Easy fix though......just popped it back in.

Unfortunately, the crow didn't make it.

This can't be a good omen :rain:

Got it installed today. Kenwood excelon dmx907s with idatalink maestro. The tire pressure readout, Android auto, and anytime rear camera make it worth it on its own... But the sound quality also went up 500% with the STOCK SPEAKERS. Didn't expect it to sound this much better just by switching the radio out. I don't even feel the need to upgrade speakers anymore. The radio sounds great. I can adjust a few settings and have it louder than I ever need at volume 15.

Unfortunately I found out my cheap phone can't be used for Android auto wirelessly... Works great connected by USB, but won't connect wirelessly... My wife's Samsung Galaxy S9 works perfectly both wireless and wired. Haven't tried either yet for mirroring, that's not something I think I'd do... But I may try it eventually.

Also changed out the stock USB/aux plug for a dual USB.

Put weather tech rainguards on. I also got a hood bug deflected but am having second thoughts about putting it on for trapping dirt against hood With it being new 10A00384-12E7-45B4-BA30-CD1312886F3D.jpg7C83A803-A4D2-4F28-A343-FD0D07F212AB.jpg

Don’t know if someone has already suggested this for you to try, but pop the hood up and disconnect negative battery terminal … wait about an hour or so and go hook it back up, stick the key in & start it up, close all doors and give the switch try… if it doesn’t work the window up/down as designed then and if it’s still under warranty have dealership replace switch … if it’s not then go buy a new switch …

Is that the raised weather tech or the flush one that sticks on? I've got the raised one and nothing really stays under it . Stuff rinses right out...this is on my old runner..it's been transferred to it's 3rd one now

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I didn't do these today, but I did do them recently.

I got a couple of these Duragadget tablet headrest mounts from Amazon. They work with the Nintendo Switch nicely. There's a little learning curve to getting things set up right, but it's stable enough once you get used to it. I tried it out myself while my dad was driving my truck around town, and it worked as well as you could expect. I was playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and at least for me the characters were probably too small and the action too frantic for me to view totally comfortably while moving. I could see myself having a better time with something that has more simple graphics like the Sega Ages Outrun from the eShop or something.

I went with this one partly because it has good access from all sides for power connections. I didn't show it in the pictures, but I was able to plug a USB cable from the bottom of my Nintendo Switch to one of the rear USB power ports in the back of my 2020 4Runner, so my Switch was able to stay topped off through the whole trip.

The stock 4Runner headlights are pretty bad. These are some good replacements. I only drove at night with them once so far, but everything looked really clear through my windshield.

These videos from TRD Jon on Youtube helped me to decide on these headlights. A link to the Lasfit online store is in the description of the videos.
