So my first 4Runner is an '02 sr5 sport with 111,750 miles . It looks like a well cared for vehicle I am excited to be a new owner. Have owned a dodge Dakota the last 11 years. Just a few lines to introduce myself to what seems like a helpful community. If there are any pointers to watch out for please let me know. I am aiming for the most pleasant experience possible and hopefully become a diehard runner !!! Be well have great day

Welcome dude! you got the newest version of mine. I beat the shit out of mine. I sure you'll be alright. Its a pretty solid truck. Unlike some of the newer Toyota seem to have TSBs left and right.

    Oh and FYI...

4runners are great vehicles if you stay on top of the maintenance.

my brother has a 96 runner that just hit 500k miles and still riding strong

So the car lot is putting a new alternator, tire balance and alignment, a new serpentine belly and lower ballpoints were replaced at 63k and it has 111k miles

Not bad right? I am having a bit of debate about the 4x4 aspect . On the left side of the steering wheel there is a button I think it's the center diff lock not sure, the gear selector is on H and I have an ECT button above the stereo with power and norm options , please explain
