Where do these hoses attach?

I have a 1988 Toyota 4runner with a 4 cylinder engine. The engine has just been rebuilt and i'm installing it but having a few problems with the fuel and vacuum lines. The main problem is the hose coming from the fuel pressure regulator. There is one towards the bottom of the regulator that I can not figure out where it connects. Also there is a hose coming from the top of the regulator which I also can not figure out where it connects. Does anyone have any idea where these two hoses attach? Any advice,especially photos, will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

 

Pictures of your issues would help a lot! Also so would a Hanes Manual from Autozone/Pepboys! Im not that familiar with the 88 motor. But off first guess your Maybe a Return line to the tank?.... To me Fuel usually goes...... (Tank)>(Pump)>(Regulator?)>(somewhere a Filter)>(Carb/Fuel Injection)>(ReturnLine)>(Tank)

 

One is manifold vacuum, other is ventauri. It's manually vontrolly the regulator with vacuum to prevent over pressuring fuel rail. Early fuel injection stilil had several mechanical controls to operate EFI. AS Time went on sensors were created for all these efi op require ments.

If you disconnect regulator, blow airvthroughvit then suck on one side or other tonidvreturn control line- manifold side

 

Not exactly a picture, per se, BUT...
This is looking from the firewall to the front of the engine. The pressure regulator is the small device near the hand, which is on the fuel return line. Where the fuel returns to the tank, if not used. On the top of the pressure regulator you can see the vacuum line that controls the pressure the regulator provides. Look on the little sticker on the underside of the hood to see where the vacuum line goes. I am pretty sure it goes to a VSV, mounted on top of the valve cover. I can't recall just which of the VSVs it is.

You can see the vacuum line goes to the leftmost VSV on the top of the diagram.
