My 2000 SR5 V6 4Runner's rear hatch will not lock or latch using the remote or side door's key. Works fine with rear hatch key. Can't find any wire diagrams for this, if anyone has a copy, I would appreciate it. :lalala:

Id test out the powered lock device. Have it open a try to cycle the lock to see if it even moves.

You can go one step further to with the back window UP, take off the back panel(Should be just a few screws) and you can see all the inner workings.

Great idea. I hope Dirk will send me a diagram, so I can do those tests.

Recently all the electrics in my rear hatch quit working... electric window, wiper and power lock all have quit working. None of the controls work even the key switch on the hatch. Additionally, I have had my battery die overnight. After charging the battery back up I can hear a relay or mechanism cycling over and over even with the car totally turned off (likely the cause of the flat battery). Bad ground?

    In-progress!
Had the same problem. Locks, defrost, and something else (not sure what) don't work. Just checked and I have 3 broken wires and 2 extremely worn wires. Anyone know how to remove that plastic clip without breaking it?
