Now, any vehicle I've ever owned used green coolant. But, I'm wondering which type I should use for my 4Runner? I've seen some results on searches saying "pink/red."
    I'm just not sure.
Also, does anyone know a "go to" site to find trustworthy specs?
    Thanks

Talking to a guy at work, he said it doesn't matter, but he uses the "sulfate free" stuff. But, not real sure what he meant as i've seen
"phosphate free," "Borate Free," Silicate Free.
What the heck. I know there are corrosion inhibitors. But???

Thanks ...I saw that, then saw the price and had a knee-jerk reaction and closed the page. lol
I saw quite a few after some more searching where they were "Borate and Silicate" free. Saw somewhere saying that the Silicate free in to help prevent water pump damage and Borate free helps to prevent corrosion and pitting.
Found Peak Anitfreeze/Coolant 50/50 at Autozone for $11.99/gal. And, free delivery to my work so i can handle this during lunch!

    I appreciate your input.

Just make sure that it matches what you already have in it. Do not mix the different colors. Our 4Runners originally came with the green stuff. The switch to red was with the 3rd Gens in 1999 I believe. I use the green stuff and haven't had an issue but you do have to change it more often than you would the red stuff.

Do a complete flush with distilled water. Refill with Toyota Red super long life. $34.99 on Amazon.. dilute with distilled water 50/50..

if you don’t like diluting it yourself then use Toyota “pink”- it’s the. Toy long life brand, but factory premixed .. use Toyota brand juice and you can’t go wrong..

same rules for brakes and tranny ..

but For power steering and differentials..no Toyota brand juice, use Lucas or something like that..

Your steering uses ATF fluid. Do not put anything else but ATF fluid in it.

Good point the Toyota dealer uses Johnson Powers Steering juice.. the gold colored stuff, Lexus (Toyota..) uses the same stuff..but yes ATF is OE/best choice..
