I don’t see why you need to reprogram. I don’t know about 2020’s but just swapping the sensors should be all you need to do when changing your setup, so I would ask if they installed the original sensors in when swapping tires?

I swapped sensors from limited wheels to TRD pro wheels and got new tires. No programming needed.

ifaik, programming is only if your replacing with new sensors. But why when you have a perfectly working set.

Are you using the same set of wheels and just swapping tires?

Or, do both sets of wheels have sensors in them?

Sounds to me hes grumbling about having to pay the dealer to reprogram the sensors when he swaps rims and tires back and forth.

Which sounds normal to me as it doesn't sound like hes swapping the sensors.

As far as I know the 4R doesn't remember old sensors once new ones are programmed.

If you’re swapping out different sensors, although OEM, yes you WILL have to pay. Your truck can only recognize one set. To avoid that you have to KEEP one set on sensors in play at all times. Otherwise you will pay each time you put the other set of sensors on. Our trucks aren’t super computers lol.

if i understand this correctly, you have two set's of wheels/tires/sensors ? if so, the 4runner can only remember 5 sensors at a time. if you swap, you''ll need to program again. another option is to use use techstream to program yourself :)

Just had my SCS wheels added with new tires. My tire shop aired down my Pro wheels and removed monitors and added standard valve stems to my stock pro wheels and tires. And added the monitors to my new wheels and tires. Make sure they go where they came off. No issues detecting the monitors.
