Passenger side whining noise increases with RPMs

Hey all, I recently bought my 4th gen 2005 4runner limited v8, which has 131,000 miles on it. Today after about an hour of driving I noticed a whining noise. I poked around and its located near the passenger side and increases with the RPM's. I have a friend who said that toyota's and lexus's just "do this". Any input or advice from anyone here? Any help is welcome, thanks.
