Hey Guys. Spreading the info here about the Dobinsons Snorkel kit for 2010-2020 5th Gen 4runners. This was released at the end of 2018.

Link to order: Dobinsons 4x4 Snorkel Kit for Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen 2010-2020 4.0L V6 - Exit Offroad

Team4runner has been running our first off-tool sample since Spring 2018 without any issues. Check out his most recent photo here: TEAM4RUNNER on Instagram: “Our @team4rpro 4Runner getting in some Colorado trail time before snow hit! - Who’s ready for winter!? ••• Join the Team4Runner community!…”

We did our best to keep the snorkel as close to the body as possible without reducing the airflow, and also keeping our classic snorkel head on the top to keep wind noise down. We are also super happy to offer these at really great pricing to start with.

    Common FAQ's:
    1. Yes, you have to drill several holes and one large hole for the snorkel to mount, but the good news is, if you ever decide to remove it, you can buy a new fender and patch the holes on the A-pillar for the supporting bracket.
    2. Yes, it's made in China.
    3. Yes, it's upwards of half the price of the current market offerings. :wow:
    4. Yes, Dobinsons does make snorkels and have been for about 12 years now, but to date it's been mostly for Land Cruisers and international vehicles not sold in the USA.
    5. No, a snorkel does not increase your horsepower. It can keep your air filter cleaner though, since dust has weight and stays closer to the ground, so using a raised air intake generally brings in less dust/dirt.
    6. Yes, it does require the original non-TRD airbox and OE sized filter (you can use a performance filter if you want).
    7. No, it does not come with it's own air filter. It just raises the point at which the air intake comes into the air box, and the further away from the ground/road, the cleaner and cooler it gets.

I have a question for you Mike, i have seen some snorkel end tips turned backwards, since i am assuming these are not forced air units what’s up with that? It looks pretty smooth facing backwards.

They do it to avoid snow going into the intake or if it's really bad mud. But facing forward is the way it is supposed to be run. The head has water separation channels built into it for when it's raining.

I have the Dobinsons snorkel and am completely happy with it. Install was pretty straight forward, just have to make sure the template lines up with the holes on the snorkel before drilling.
