Hauled this sucker home, hanging out the back of the 4R. We had to dig it/load it with a bobcat. The root ball was huge!!!

You can’t get two hands around the base of it. They have some great grafts for sale there...It’s over seven feet tall...

They grow anywhere, shade, sun. Just takes a small corner. They usually use a tall green maple’s base/trunk. Then graft the scion to the cambrium up high. So you get up above the other plants and bushes...

It’s a “mother” tree. It gets lil tiny helicopters. And I find seedlings all over the yard. I’m going to start potting them. But I think the only way you can get a true weeping affect is by grafting...

Can you grow two from your seedlings and graft them in the future?

Ofcourse. I went through a grafting phase. But sadly I didn’t do to well. It would take years to grow from a seedling. But If you have a bunch of them it would look kewl. I find a few in the yard not a lot....

I had nightmares at night. That someone would come and break all my limbs off for grafting. Nobody has messed with it yet.:)

I have a small area between the house and garage. Found a dwarf red maple stays around 10' tall fully grown.

Then I planted three more “tear out” weeping(broken branches) and found another broken red maple in the dumpster......7F79BFB9-9167-4300-AB6B-CC57633F8B56.jpg
