In case anyone is in the market for some sliders... I got this email today... Might be a one time use code or maybe not... I got full weld on sliders from a local guy so I don't need this.

I would file this under "tried to do stuff to my 5th gen today"...I noticed recently that one of the plastic screws the dealer used to attach the rear license plate had broken off.
I ordered some stainless steel screws to replace them (i'm in salt country) with the intent of replacing all the license plate screws. The front screws went totally fine but when I attempted to remove the other non-broken rear screw, it broke off as well. I used heat and penetrator to try and remove the broken studs to no avail. Off to the dealership I go I guess. Mind you, this is a 2020 I bought on December 2nd, 2019 and currently have 2700 miles on. I can't fathom the thought process on using cheap bullshit plastic screws that break off.

 

Small mod but I like how it looks.

 

If they are plastic just drill them out. That should be pretty easy, I would think.

How is the brightness of the back up lights on them?

 

I detailed for the last two days. Wash, used a fine grade Nanoskin (clay is hands down a better choice, and sealed with Wolfgang 3.0 sealant.As nice as it came out I am really frustrated with all the rust spots. I wash the truck about every month and wax/seal about every two. I am super meticulous about drying up all the water. I have never had a newer Toyota do this...really disappointed in the “made in Japan quality”. I fear I am going to have a rust bucket before the truck hit 6 years old.

Yeah I live in the NYC suburbs... I don’t ever remember even opening the rear gate during a snow storm for fear of getting rust. But I have always washed and wiped down the truck after storms. And I had a bunch of warranty paint work done already.

 

Ordered Dobinsons 2.5/1.5 kit today with UCAs. Also ordered Victory 4x4 Blitz low-profile winch bumper. First step in a long list of steps!

 

I shined it up today. Now it’ll be nice and clean while it’s parked during the coming snow storm.

The backup lights I have LEDS from Headlight Revelation and they are super bright.

Rockland, I can’t wait to leave. This state has gone from dark blue to sickle and hammer red... It’s a damn shame because it truly is a beautiful, unique,and diverse state.

 

Agreed. really is a shame, and such a huge gun owning population too, even on long island, but the fanatic liberals just have complete control. That's why I jumped ship as soon as I could!

 

TRD Pro style grill install today, along with some sweet decals on the lower part of the grill gotta clean up the lower valence from the crappy plasti dip job by the previous owner and remove the license plate mount.
I sense a high clearance bumper cut coming soon

Victory 4x4 ladder going on today

 

I have a few rust spots in the similar places. Those bolts on the tail I have same rusting issues. I'm in Rogue Island. 2013 that came from New Hampshire.

 

I'm right there with you. I live in Nassau and I'm about 10 years too late getting the hell out of here. My wife is like a friggin' anchor. I might just have to go on my own.

 

Unfortunately the Liberals are destroying VA too. When I go, I'll be moving to NC and hope the same doesn't happen there. They are spreading like cancer. End of political rant, not the correct thread for it.
