New Member lots of questions about 2005 4runner sport with xreas .want to do a 3 inch lift.

Ok just wondering has anyone installed a Ready Lift and still kept the xreas system

How about you ask yourself this, do you really want to try and salvage shocks that probably have 150k+ miles on them? Would you really want to put spacers on shocks that would probably crap out in another 10k miles?

Just rip the system out and be done with it. You won't regret it. And there's plenty other people that were in your situation that tried to keep a dying system alive.

 

ditch the xreas. i know exactly 0 people who have taken it out and replaced it with something else and have been disappointed

I'd like to do moderate off roading not too crazy. But it has to handle well on the road too. I'd like the best bang for my buck. I don't need a killer rock climber. Or a major mud buggy. But something that can do a bit of both. If that makes sense.

 

OK .If I was gonna go the next lift above 3 inches what would it be? I want something that handles awesome on and off the road.

 

Don't really want to have to start altering the rest of the components either.soooo. I hear as long as you don't go above 3 inches you don't have to alter anything

 

id say you should do bilstein 5100's with either eibach, ome, or fj springs

 

Those new bilstein 6112 look cool. Could always add UCA later down the road if you want a better alignment and road manners

 

Now I'm wondering let's say I go to the spacer lift for now. Can I add the suspension lift to them layer once I decide to lose the xreas thus giving my self even more clearance. Oh what is UCA ? Thanks for all the tips.

 

in a physical sense you could use a spacer lift with a suspension lift, but you should not under any circumstances, unless its low lift coils or a small spacer. UCA is upper control arm, as you add lift with 4runners, you lose caster. aftermarket upper control arms add back in caster and improve the road handling characteristics lost
