Newbie question here. I plan on a 2.5 or 3 inch lift down the road, but I am reading conflicting information on what shocks, springs and such i have on my 2020 ORP. Are they Bilstein shocks or something else?

    Thank you for the help.

I read where 2.5" and under is safe for CV angles etc. You can go higher but need extra gear - Either way tons of choices from eibach, dobkins, toytec, icon, king, Bilstein and more

I’m pretty sure the stock shocks on everything except the Pro are made by Tokico.

Tokico?? I was under the impression that the SR5 had those, and that the OR and ORP had Bilstein. The Pro has Fox doesnt it?

SR5 and OR both have the exact same springs and shocks. Golfguy is correct.....they are Tokico. Bilsteins used to come on the Pro's. in 2019 (I think), the Pros switched over to fox. No 4Runner made today comes with Bilsteins.

Thank you for clarifying this for me. I guess that explains why I have experienced the same nose dive under braking that some SR5 owners mention. Headed over to my 4x4 shop this afternoon! There are plenty of great threads on here to help me decide which way to go.. Icon, King, Bilstein etc.:spending:

    No worries.

Post some pics once you get the new suspension installed.

Looks like I am down to these 2 options. I will be driving 85% or more on road, the rest off. I am looking to fix the nose dive and roll, as well as leveling the truck. I want off road ability without sacrificing too much streetability. I am not sure if it will make a difference as far as which kit I pick, but I plan on the TRD Pro Wheels with the Falken Wild Peaks also at some point.
    Thanks!

I had the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo on my Tacoma and I liked them a lot for the price. I’ve never had Eibach, however comparing the reviews of both I’d go with the Bilsteins.

Thank you. I am leaning toward the Bilstein setup. My brother in law has it and loves it!

Where are you ordering the bilsteins from? I’m getting ready to purchase a lift as well and leaning towards that combo!

@HeadStrong Off-Road as the best prices for that combo.

however I’d suggest going big and getting Kings lol.

What do you have on your rig? Have you done anything to your suspension? What tires and wheels are you running? I have my eye set on the TRD Pro wheels in black, and probably the Falken Wildpeaks.

From what I've heard, Eibach said they were supposed to be out roughly one month after the adjustable rear set-up was available.

Not sure if this whole coronavirus thing will change that timeframe as many businesses slow things down. So I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer.

Also, don't be shocked (pun) when the front Eibach coilovers come in a bit pricier.

They said the price would be comparable to other 2.0 coilovers on the market.

That means we're looking at roughly $1000 for the pair. :spending:

    Yeah, supposedly.

We don't know exact specs on the front coilovers yet, but I think that's what it will be.

That's my best guess anyways. I think it'll be pretty close to that.

But I could always be wrong.

sweeeeet. Wanting something that isn’t too cheap but not too expensive, something in the sweet spot and offers good off road performance.
