I burped the rad elevated on the front...the only way it starts is when I take off rad cap and crank it 3 times then it turns and runs with white smoke out the muffler..thanks for the reply

White smoke is indicative of burned coolant. Blue smoke is oil and black smoke is unburned fuel. How bad did u overheat it? Sounds like u may have warped the cylinder head which is now allowing coolant into the combustion chamber. If this is the case then u are really up the creek. The only cure is to have the heads machined flat again. GL

Thats what I was afraid of....Today i removed the thermostat to check it and its gòod, put it back on, and it starts. Somoke still coming out and a chirping sound still..I was thinking of flushing the radiator and engine tomorrow, and add new coolant and a bottle of Kseal to see if it helps seal the leak in the block for the mean time..untill I can fix the heads....what do you think...thanks again

I'd pull out the spark plugs and look at them closely for coolant. Coolant will make them wet and maybe even clean.
