Folks I did try the "search" tab. But it didn't seem to be fruitful in information.
I am only a couple days into this forum.
I actually tried to reach out to member ATGParker but failed to see just how to send him a message. I noticed his rig has the OEM tire swing rack.

In any case - as a retired spray painter with aspirations to repaint the rig soon. I have acquired numerous flawless body parts. Including a tailgate to accommodate the swing rack and and the swing rack itself.

Can anyone provide good information as to what their approach may have been to incorporate the swing rack. I have never seen the inside of a rig that has come with one.

    Thanks - William

I'm pretty sure the 4runners that came with the factory swing out spare racks have some sort of reinforcement where the rack mounts to the body of the rig. That seems like a lot of weight to be hanging off the side of a vehicle when it's open. I found this write up hopefully it helps. http://www.oocities.org/baja/3499/spare.html

Hey folks check this out. I have acquired some flawless parts over the past couple years for the T4R. As a retired spray painter I have the aspiration to repaint the rig.
I snagged the OEM Swing Rack, and tailgate off Craigslist this past summer. I posted this thread inquiring any input on the support piece on the interior of the rear quarter panel. I got some welcome input as well - Thank You.

Check out my score. This is what I do, and want to share if others are trying to hunt down parts.

    I - Go to Google
Type in "Search All of Craigslist"
in the Search All of Craigslist search engine I type -
    "90-95 4Runner parts", or "2nd Gen 4Runner parts"
    It list all the postings...

Today I came across this pic as part of a Craigslist ad

    upload_2020-2-10_16-54-8.jpg

I saw the silver tailgate that is for the OEM swing Rack. I replied to the ad, asking if he still had the body of the T4R, telling him I want the inner bracket.

He replied - Yes, I have the body - inside here?

    upload_2020-2-10_16-56-55.jpg

I replied YES, can you cut the bracket out?

Later he replied This Bracket? :)

    upload_2020-2-10_16-58-20.jpg

He asked for $50... I gave him $100 - for the part, shipping and his time. I am excited.

I know these swing racks are dated, not the strongest. But we all know they are rare in many ways.
Stay tuned in the weeks ahead as I do a fitment install in preparations for paint.

Pretty cool, nothing feels better than finding something that isn’t generally available, and being able to pay a fair and reasonable price for it.

Yeah man, just excited by it. It should save the hassle in fabbing something up.
Looking forward to fitting everything up in the days ahead.

Freaking nice man ! Did you want to see pictures of anything pertaining to the swing gate. While my truck is down I’d be happy to help if I can.

Hey bro, thanks for the offer. I did get the bracket but haven't had time to tinker.
Do you have the rear cargo trim panel off the passenger side? If so pics would be great I have no idea what I am up against behind the panel.

    Thanks

    Ok Will,
Today we’re kicking back but tomorrow I’ll get started and whatever I need to do to get access and get you some pics of that/those areas we’ll do. And congrats on that parts score, I do the same thing here a few times a week on Craigslist myself.

    Search for parts that is.

And hey, don't be beating me to the good parts scores on CL.

Does your rig have a swing rack?
