In august we took the longest vacation since buying our 2018 TRD OR. Went to Florida and back racking up almost 2000 miles. Hauled 500 lbs of humanity an k9 and approx 280 lbs of luggage and supplies. I got 21.3 mph for the whole trip. I drive at 80 mph as much as possible. I was shocked yet happy.

I use top tier gas. Always Sunoco or Exxon. At home driving I use 87 octane and trips I use 89. The 4r is still running stock everything.o

I normally at home driving I reset mpg after about 3 refills. I did reset it before leaving for Florida. I get between 17 and 19 around home.

I keep an eye on miles per quarter tank. I was averaging 100-115 per quarter tank. With the 20 gallon tank it figures to be close to the 4r numbers.

I was consistently seeing 19.1 mpg for the first 4500 miles from April to July. Serviced the front and rear diffs and instantly saw a 0.7 mpg increase which has been verified across multiple fillups on fuelly. Did the first oil change at 8k miles, and now I'm seeing another slight increase.

Overall average for the first 8250 miles is 19.5 mpg and climbing. Best tank was 20.5 mpg which will likely be surpassed on the next fillup, as I'm currently showing 21.2 mpg on the dash at the half tank mark. That's pretty impressive considering the weather has cooled significantly since Summer, and I haven't adjusted the air pressure in the tires.

    Edited to add:
Overall average now 19.6. Best tank at 20.94.

the truck tells me my average is 18.9 mpg no matter when I check it. quick glance while driving shows into the low 20's. all I know is that during travel soccer season and Christmas, I pay about as much for gas as I do for the truck itself.

For the first 1400 miles I've driven (odometer is at ~1410 miles), the dash shows me at just under 17mpg, but I haven't yet calculated the actual based on the fuel fill up receipts that I've saved in an envelope. It's also been winter here, so that should rightly reduce mpg a bit.

I do a manual fuelly-style record keeping in a small bound notebook that I record all fuel stops, maintenance, and care I do to the vehicle chronologically and I have yet to enter all the data.

According to the dash, 17.5. Pretty consistent unless I'm doing a 1000 mile highway drive, then a bit better.

I have the DuelerH/T tires (which is basically a street tire), pumped up to 36psi, so that might account for the better than average mpg.
Edit: Today I checked my mpg & it is 21.7mpg after driving some highway speeds this week.
8/20/20 took a trip on highway, getting 22.5 mpg now. my mileage is getting better!

I was getting 13.1 litres/100 km, then I added a winch and a couple of bumpers and now I’m getting 13.2 litres/100km. Haha. Btw, in American speak that’s roughly 17.8 mpg. According to the gauge on the dash, anyway. And it doesn’t seem to matter how or where I drive it. I stick to regular fuel, because it runs great on that.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Right around 20 in the pickup, 18 in the 87 4Runner, 18 in the 99 4Runner. A lot depends on conditions, use of 4WD in the 4Runners during the winter (snow/ice to deal with), amount of city driving, highway speed (stuck behind a slow big-rig), etc etc etc. SO many variables it's hard to get a real accurate reading.
Now throw in the quality of the gas, ethanol or not, and so on...who knows.

    Enjoy!

2020 Limited with stock tires and no mods. Computer says I've averaged 18.1 in the 10,000 miles I've driven. On a recent 100 mile round trip with a mix of driving but most speeds between 50-60 MPH, the computer said I got 21.1 on the way there, and 21.9 on the way back. Based on my calculations at the pump, the computer is only slightly optimistic. Maybe a couple tenths of one MPG.

That said, GPS shows that the speedometer runs 1-3 MPH higher than actual, depending on speed. Thus, the truck is presumably traveling slightly fewer miles than the ODO reports. And if that's the case then presumably my calculations at the pump are also a bit optimistic. So, to ballpark actual MPG, I'd take about a half-MPG off of whatever the computer is saying.

In around town driving the computer often reports only 13-15 MPG. So less than the EPA city number. The only reason the computer reports more than 18 MPG over my 10,000 miles is that roughly half of those miles are highway. On most of my highway trips the computer has reported 20 MPG or a hair under.
