    Agreed!

I have considered signing up just for the off-road groups. I just don't look forward to rejecting friend requests from all of the people from my past.

I think there are some positive things about it. I guess you can always just block the people who like to stir the pot.

I live a little west of Jacksonville. I don't off-road in the truck, but I do like to ride bikes out in the woods. This area is pretty hilly (by deep south standards), just enough to be moderately challenging for a middle age dude trying to keep up.

Don’t create the account in your name. Create it specifically for the truck groups and only post wheeling/4R stuff. The folks from your past will be none the wiser.

Only thing i use FB for is fishing, off roading, and dog groups. I avoid the political posts and people.

Im in the woods between Archer and Bronson. 20 minutes southwest of Gainesville. These pics were all taken within 5 miles of my house.

Anyone in the NW Florida area interested in a Gibson Black Elite Dual exhaust? I took it off after just under 1k miles.I haven't posted in the FS due to a lack of interest in shipping it. Figured someone localish would be easier. Looking for $300 out of it.

Buddy of mine in Lakeland who is a welder/fabricator by profession is selling a set of custom built sliders (weld on) for $350.

And im not too far from him. Keep lookin at them on the tacoma forum, id like to have them but im still a bit tapped from Xmas. And they are priced great, but after getting them powder coated and paying to have them welded on id be up there in price. Still very tempting.

I took my tyger steps off today, just because i have never seen my 4runner without them since i got the lift and 285s on... The 4runner looks much taller on the sides without them, but its a pain to get in and out :D

Don’t powder coat sliders. They’ll get screwed up. Paint them so they can be touched up easily. Never ever waste money on powder coating something that’s meant to be bashed on stuff.

I go offroad plenty, but dont rock crawl. I go in deep sand and mud but thats about the extent of it. The main use i have of steps or sliders is help getting into the lifted runner, something to beat off muddy boots on, and to prevent against door dings from shopping carts or doors from cars parked beside me. I like the looks of sliders, but wouldnt use them as real sliders.

So i wouldnt be screwing them up, and would want them to look nice, same reason i pay extra to have skid plates powder coated, i want stuff to look nice and dont plan on sliding down rocks. And my rattle can skills are non existent.

Steps and running boards are plenty sufficient for my uses, though i really do like the looks of sliders more, especially angled up and close to the body. Keeps the sides of the runner looking further off the ground. The steps i have now have that 2nd bar under the "steps", making them hang lower than id prefer, but they function in every way i personally need. If they didnt have that bar under the step making the runner look "less lifted" theyd be perfect for me. They resemble sliders but work as steps and i only paid like 200 for them when there was a sale.

I get it. I think Eddy at SOS makes bolt on sliders that double as steps with the plates on top.

I really like the looks of the angled sliders from RSG and shrockworks. No kickout, no plates. Close to the body and sit up high... But the cost after shipping makes it hard to swallow... I live on military disability, I'd love to go full armor, wrap it, forced induction, geared with 35s and tuned... But the wife would kick me out the house and I'd have to live in the 4runner...

I'd definitely take my boat with me still so I could still fish and get some food... But then I'd be getting 8mpg and couldn't afford gas :D

I hear that. Just regeared to 4.56 on 33’s and the RPM’s are a tad high right now but that will change once I put 35’s on and it should be perfect.

I wish someone offered steps like that without that bar underneath...

I have the RSG, angled with kickout. I'm very happy with them.

I managed to get the 4runner dirty at Yucca Penns and Babcock/Webb wildlife areas looking for Alligators. We didn't see any, but had fun exploring. We saw a group of Jeeps and a Tundra that looked like they were having fun!

    20200203_153036.jpg

Canal fishing has been ridiculous! It's not a matter of whether you'll get a bite, but what's it going to be? The highlight has been a couple of black drum up to 10#.

    20200202_121629.jpg

I've been enjoying my vacation here. I really love this area! I had dinner and cocktails at Woody's Waterside the other day:D

    20200128_194002.jpg

Cheers, y'all! Thanks for having me!

I'm not sure if anyone here is on Pine Island, but there was a kick-ass 5th gen parked at the "Ragged Ass Saloon" this evening. If you're here, VERY nice!

Always looking for riding partners around here. So far we have done the Picayune Strand State Forest in collier County and the Yucca Pen in Charlotte County. Sure wish it wasn't so danged flat around here. Would love to head north for a lil fun.......:mudding:

That's great but I hope to God I am not still down here in this shithole by then. We are waiting for his last elderly cat to pass away and then we skate! She is not looking good so.....hopefully soon.

Whats up Florida men and women! I’m a south east based 4runner right off alligator ally. Always looking to hit the trails. Plan on doing some central florida and pan handles trips soon too. My build is coming along and have some big plans for it.

I managed to park next to a good looking white 5th gen at the Blue Dog this evening. If it's someone here, good looking 4Runner!

Full Toyota contingent at BD this evening. Looks like a nice locally owned joint like the Island Cow on Sanibel.

Yes, it is! Nothing fancy. But, a good selection of local craft beers, fresh local fish and shrimp, and all around good food.

I've never been to the Island Cow. I'll check it out next time I make it to Sanibel. I'll probably go fishing on the causeway sometime this coming week, so maybe then.

Those are the best seafood restaurants. Grouper over on the West Coast is second to none imo. The Cow is going to be more expensive most likely but I never had a bad meal there. Place has been open for quite awhile now. Spent several months rebuilding the South Seas up on the North end of Captiva after Charlie in 04'. Kind of isolated up there so the Cow was our night out once a week.

Sounds awesome! Yeah, the grouper is good at the Blue Dog! They get fresh local shrimp, too. Today I had Mullet. It's their specialty, so I usually have it once every year.

@Thatbassguy Redfish Pass is like fishing in an Aquarium if you can get a hold of a boat. Redfish of course, Snook, Tarpon, Some Grouper this time of year and a myriad of other stuff. We used to wade the beach and edges of the pass because we had access working out there, but it's kind of Sharky. I had a baby Hammer Head about 2 inches long nibble on my toe one day lol.
