Hi, new to this forum, hope you guys can give me some advice. I purchased a 1991 4Runner with 49.5K on it. Cleanest truck I've seen. Slept in a garage with a cover it's entire life. However truck start but engine has no power. Bought it "As Is". I have codes 24 and 32 on the OBD1 (Flow Meter??). I opened the sunroof and now it doesn't close flush to the roof and the sunroof cover it's broken. I paid 6K cash for it, don't know if I paid too much or not...love the spare tire mounted on the tailgate. Please, if someone have the sunroof cover in blue or at least the part number, let me know, willing to buy. . Thanks a lot for any help that you guys can give me !!4Runner Cluster.jpg 4Runner Engine.jpg 4Runner Spare Tire.jpg 4Runner Tailgate.jpg 4Runner RH Side.jpg 4runner Radio.jpg

    Welcome!

Wow that is a great find. Things on that vehicle have not been used for years so you are going to have some things go wrong. You can look up the codes on line. Hope you get it figured out and running great.

Here is a thread related to your codes. Also has a link to the FSM which you will need.

More photos when you get it outside please!! And welcome to the forum!

Was the tire on the tailgate a mod or OEM?

I believe it's OEM on foreign 4's. Not those gens in the USA. But may be wrong

    Hi,
Thanks for writing. Will post more pictures asap. The spare tire carrier is OEM and truck is US spec's. I believe it only came in some Second Generation SR5 4X4 models but not sure. As a matter of fact that's what I liked about the truck. Thanks for writing

What is under the rear floor if there is no tire there, just a empty space?
    Very clean truck. Congratulations again!

There are 2 plastic cables with little plastic trucks that operate the sunroof. One of ours was broken. Went to Toyota to get a replacement and was told they do not make them anymore and there are none in stock. :( Ours also leaked due to this fact. :annoyed: So we did the only thing we could do, forced it into position and put braces in to hold it up and in place them put 2" black vinyl tape all along the seam and so far it is water tight. Sure it doesn't open, but it's not leaking anymore either!

Yea, nice find with 50K on the odo that is unreal but yikes $6K. Ditto on the sunroof or moonroof. Mine is blocked up with some wood pieces to keep it flush and quiet when going >80 MPH. Damn thing broke on the way home from San Diego right after I had purchased it from a listing on Craigslist 2-1/2 years ago. Mine was 232K and $1,600 and now I'm one engine rebuild later that cost about $2K and am very pleased with this vehicle as it will purr at 3,500 RPM all day long with plenty of throttle left for inclines and gets 16 MPG on the highway.

    Welcome to the club!
