So my girlfriend is chatting w the toyota mechanics today, bragging about my 2020 Venture model, when a mechanic advises her to tell me not to lift the 4runner more than 1/2 inch, otherwise it will throw off the front radar calibration. They can't recalibrate these radars right now. Not sure about this. Has anyone else lifted their 2020's and experienced any loss of function? My plan is to do 1 1/2 to 2 in lift w 33s.

There is a thread on another forum. Dudes dealer told him the same thing. Dozens have 2020 lifted with zero issue. Many dealers lift the 20's because they cant get pros to sell. all problem free. There is a calibration process if needed so find a dealer that knows

I put a 2.5" lift in my 2020 ORP, no issues with the radar. The LDA still works.

Dang that would really suck if a simple lift messes up the "text and drive" package.

Unless your 2020 “Venture” has some super echelon level military radar system that has flat plane projection, you’ll be fine to lift it. 99% of fixed position radar systems project outward in a cone shape meaning that if you raise the position of the radar, you’ll only sense further out causing the radar controlled cruise control to react sooner and the same goes for the braking assist. The Toyota techs are baseline retarded and don’t know what they are talking about when they say not to lift it.

Never thought of that being a potential issue, glad it is confirmed to be false.
