It's been an interesting first 1000 miles with my 2020 TRD ORP. To be cliche for a second here: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."

    The negatives:
    • Bought BF Goodrich K02s and one of them won't balance. 33/34/14/81 for the Road Force numbers. Tirerack is sending me a new tire to replace the square one they sent me...
    • Bought the wrong TPMS sensors for new wheels I purchased. Figured out the err of my ways when they wouldn't communicate with the truck, did some googling and realized I made a mistake. So I subsequently bought the correct sensors, but the parts place won't accept the sensors I purchased incorrectly as a return as they have been used. Anyone wanna buy some Toyota TPMS sensors for a non-2020 4Runner? I'll cut you a great deal haha!
    • Ordered LEDs for the headlights (low and high), backup lights, and LP lights from Xenondepot. Nearly 3 weeks pass with no lights and no communication from them. After I send them an email asking what is going do I get a response 2 days later saying "oops, we're sorry" and they arrive a day later. Stay tuned for the install and results...
    • Bought a knock-off Pro grille that arrived without instructions or letters installed. I got the T O Y installed perfectly and upon adding the next O it looks as if a child put it on. Oddly the posts were aligned correctly so I'm assuming a manufacturing defect? Chucked it back in the box for a refund and decided to spend the extra few bucks on the OEM grille.
    • Not a huge fan of the Auto high-beams as they only seem to register that a car is coming towards you in a straight line. Curves or turns throw it for a loop as well as reflections off of street signs. Occasionally it randomly just dims the beams? I haven't been using it as it gives me too much anxiety.
    • Lane keep assist is obnoxious. It's over-sensitive and under-sensitive at the same time. It's been off since I first drove it.
    • Apple CarPlay...enough said...(still no resolution)
    The positives:
    • Troubles aside I freaking love this damn truck. We've had two big snowstorms in the last few weeks and she drove like a dream. I've been dying to get it out in the mud and off-road. I'm thinking a road trip is in order soon to find some nice trails to explore.
    • As you can see, most of my gripes are about aftermarket things. Some of which are lessons learned! It's been a while since I've had a vehicle in which I was buying parts and dumping aftermarket stuff into it. The learning curve has been a little steeper than I expected with this truck but now I know I gotta move a little slower and do more research before pulling the trigger on things. Especially as I start to look at the bigger ticket items like suspension, exhaust, etc.
    • This forum! I've learned a ton reading all the posts. Lots of great insight out there!
