Currently driving a 2017 Tacoma that I like a lot, but just don't use it for "truck stuff" very often and considering an upgrade. I think this might be worth the 20min drive to see in person:

    https://www.toyotasouth.com/invento...d-off-road-premium-4wd-4wd-jtebu5jr1j5503866/

First concern is that the odometer listing is incorrect, whether maliciously or accidentally I don't know. The pic of the interior/dash/odometer clearly shows 38K miles. Not too concerned about the miles, as I know these vehicles have a reputation for longevity, but I'm hoping it's an innocent mistake as I bought my Tacoma from this dealer and so far they've been really good to me.

Next concern is those mods - the obvious ones (bumper, wheels/tires) and any that aren't visible (suspension?). Would the dealership have a list of all the mods done by the previous owner when they took-in the vehicle, if any? Where is a good resource for me to research that "OR Premium" trim so that I can better ID any mods when I go see the truck? What's the word on mods affecting any remaining warranty?

Finally, price - at first glance does that seem reasonable? I've heard there's not much wiggle room on 4Runners because they move them easily and consistently - is that true? Any thoughts on a hypothetical opening offer that won't get me laughed out of the building?

    Any other suggestions I've missed?
    Thanks in advance!
    KD

Welcome to the forum from Nebraska!
    1. Odometer: in the basic info if someone forgot the 8 in 28k miles it could show that.
    2. Mods: the front bull bar is purely cosmetic and probably held on by 2 or 4 bolts. I don't think it touches the factory bumper.
Wheels & tires are a non issue. If you like them; keep them. If not; sell & buy what you like. Neither of those mods should effect you warranty at all! The interior & engine appear to be completely stock. It looks to be factory ride height but the old owner may have put wheel spacers on to fit the wheels & tires.
    3. Price: I gave my dealership a price of $30k for our '19 ORP brand new. Just messing with them. I would look around for comparable trucks & see if the price is appropriate. Also, pay only what you feel it is worth & comfortable for you. There are more out there! They do move fast because they are in demand but they are not difficult to find!
    Best of luck,
    Ryan.

Thanks! Probably a moot point, though, as very soon after posting this thread someone put down a deposit on the vehicle. Just my luck.

Here's some information about the steps and bull-bar.

It's definitely lifted. I would go look at it in person and see what lift it is. Then, decide if you want that lift or not.

As far as price: these things have ridiculously high resale value. I ended up buying new because of that. If they're asking $35.7K, you might get them down to $32K or so. If the title is clean, that might be a good price. Check Kelly blue book, etc. To get a better idea of the value.

    Otherwise, agreed with @4Runner fun

I’ve seen dealers list full details about the previous mods, but most don’t seem to bother or care. I know when I saw my tundra listed they didn’t mention any of the suspension work I told them about. So yeah, you may get some surprises (good or bad). Also, not sure if it’s certified, but I’d recommend buying certified pre owned from a toyo dealer if possible. While that truck is nice, most of the mods done to it are cheap parts from the looks of it.
