So...in my world of wisdom I decided to replace my 1985 EGR on my 22 REC thinking after 34 years it may be operating inefficiently...Wow...you know the old phrase "if it's not broken, don't fix it"...as soon as I replaced it when I would be on level road I would get an intermittent miss...not predictable...just a miss. So I plugged off the vacuum to the EGR valve and it disappears completely...if anyone has any thoughts on WHY a new EGR would cause this problem please let me know. I am still driving with a new EGR that is plugged off and my 22REC runs Great!!!???

If your state does not require you to have EGR, I highly recommend you delete it.
I noticed a slight increase in performance and gas mileage when I deleted mine, and never going back.
It is possible you got an EGR with a minor leak right off the shelf.. Where did you buy it from? Leak can cause misfire as it would be slowly allowing exhaust into the intake manifold.
Is your check engine light on by chance?

Actually...the check engine light went on and off intermittently also...I'll get the block off plate this summer from LCE and remove it. Thanks for the reply!!!
