    Hi there,
I have a 4runner 08 limited with 60.000 miles. This morning I tried to turn the AC on but the control panel wouldn’t turn the lights on, switch AC speeds, change the AC mode, recycling, temperature, etc. The AC is permanently on but in LOW mode. The whole control panel doesn’t work and also the clock and fuel range meter and thermostat don’t work as well.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

There can be two main components that go bad - the control panel (button panel) and the AC amplifier. Search this site and Google and you will find a lot of information.

Replacement of these components is not terribly hard if you are an experienced DIY. Cost is several hundred dollars total for the two parts, if that is the problem.

This assumes that your ac compressor is working, which it sounds like it is, based on your description. Can you confirm the ac clutch is operating properly?

Apparently the problem is the control panel. I just took it apart to see if I can clean it and fix it. Otherwise I’ll have to replace it. The AC compressor is OK though...
