Went out to start my truck this morning to go to work and there was a key broken off in the driver's side door lock and every door was open along with the glovebox. I had 3 pairs of Oakley's, a pair of Costas, a Spyderco para military, a brand new Carhartt jacket in there and all they stole was my streamlight. We live in a newer HOA subdivision with private roads and limited access. I guess you can never get away from dishonest shitbags! Looks like I need to get some cameras. Any suggestions?

Sorry mang that sucks. I have four Blink cameras. At strategic locations around my house and garage. Going to add another. Battery’s last half a year or so. Depending on usage. Great night vision too...

Actually the Sheriffs department told me about the cameras. After someone bent/pryed on my Camaro’s fender with a pry bar. Probably cause they couldn’t get in. And after someone slashed my 4Runner’s tire sidewall, I installed motion sensor lights....

I will look into those thank you. Also my truck has an aftermarket alarm in it. For some reason it didn't go off. My neighbor has a camera that faces my house I'm hoping it picked something up but they haven't been home today.

This is the first and last one I will ever live in. It's a joke really, I pay a monthly due for really nothing. No leaf services in the fall and they don't plow any roads in the winter. If we didn't live in an HOA we would have these services. So im essentially paying taxes that go to services I don't get and paying these clowns to live here. We have a 2.5yr old and a 12yr old. Once the 12 yr old can drive ( get himself to school, sports etc.) We are definitely going to buy a place with some property out of town.

I just got this Eufy today, and installed today also, $140.00 at Home Depo. Pretty darn nice, very easy setup.

Thanks for the suggestion! I briefly googled it. Does it only record when it picks up motion? I like the fact that there isn't a monthly charge.

I checked it out on u tube, and that no monthly charge & more privacy sold me. You can operate everything from the app, and it notifies you if there is movement. I been playing with it all day. Pretty nice unit. Oh yeah you can also add other units once you get set up.

Yes, but they do make the battery ones also, i already had motion lights on the face of my garage, so i just took the old on off, and used that power box for the new one. You get better definition with the wired units i think.

I like the fact that video is stored on am SD card and not a cloud. Definitely a good option. I will look into this one. Thanks!

I use Ring cameras and home security. I really like the products, they work better than my older Alro Pro 2 stuff. Home monitoring with camera storage is only $100 for a year so you can't beat that. I was paying $35/ month just for monitoring from another company. Ring lacks native homekit integration though. Really depends on what features you are looking for. Most of the companies are offering high quality products in this space now.

I have arlo. Got it from costco .quality is fine. Setup was fairly simple. Need it wired to unlock more features.. app is simple to use. Playback and live view needs work.

I have fast internet (spectrum ultra) but feel like it's still so slow with the arlo system.. watching the cam live has lag about 3 to 4 seconds.

I'm eventually going to go with something else..

I installed Night Owl system at my parents house . It was responsive and quick for live view/ playback
Downfall was crawling thru the attic to run wires drill holes.. quality was good. Setup was fine. App was could be a little confusing but after dedicating sometime to "browse" around, it can be learned without an issue . No cloud, local storage, faster response to your requests

I use Wyze. Relatively cheap and has been very reliable.

I put off cameras for years and took the plunge this year after local thefts. Went with nest do to 24x7 recording. Ring sells to police and hackers so anyone can view your cameras.
Dont let nest subscription scare you. In 2020 they are dropping the cost way down
So far I was able to prove to my neighbor his kid pisses in my bushes and provide the police video of a hit and run accident front of my house, clear pictures do matter when you need them!
I even have a camera captures the utility pole if someone trys to cut my internet or power feed:anonymous:
