Never liked the Pro rack and already ordered black rails.
Only been a day but wondering if I should keep it stock?[IMG]

It’s not for me. Never cared for it on the fj either. I would be the person to keep it if there was somewhere to store it out of the weather so I could offer it when the time comes to sell the 4runner. Many folks do like them.

I only use my roof rack to haul a 17 foot canoe. Stock is fine for me..

I would change it to something useful like an LFD or Victory 4x4 rack. Then sell that monstrosity to recoup some money for the aftermarket rack.

I’m not a fan. To my eye, it doesn’t look like a “match” to the design of the truck. I much prefer the regular rack with oem cross bars for hauling the occasional 2x4. Less to tangle with. Looks better, too.

Bonus: someone will give you big $$ for the pro rack.

I’m picking up my AG this week. I’m in the same boat. Not really crazy about the roof rack. The wife likes it. I’m waiting till I get it and having my Pro for a little bit before I take it off and regretting it and than putting it back on again. If I do take it off I’m selling it. Where did you order thru for the black rails? Thanks.

Love the look! I rather have that pro roof rack than the lower standard one!

    What wally said.

That rack really isn’t useful. Awkward size and only rated for 110lbs. People will pay 4-500 for them so I’d get something you can actually use.

    Hi Kevin,
So your 18 4runner came with the black rails and blank
End caps. My 17Pro had the silver why Toyota did that on the Pro. When all the emblems are in black. Half hour north of Reading Pa. or close to Pottsville pa area. Where you located Kevin?

I like the rack. Then again, I doubt I’ll use it too much. If your into camping and loading things up there .. sell it and get a real functional rack

I see myself replacing mine with the LFD roof rack on my 2020 Pro. But I’ll give it a chance for a while.

So these showed up today. Not sure if I want them now, lol
Bought the pro really not liking the rack and, well it's growing on me. Guess I'll throw these on, can always switch back!

I have a friend who works on the development team for Toyota. He sent me a pic of the prototype PRO rack Toyota used in the development of the current PRO rack. Looks like they didn't go too far off of the prototype for the OEM rack. Here's the pic...

Mine came with full black rails. Eventually I will get a Gobi rack with the sunroof opening but Im waiting to see how much actual use I will have for a roof rack or if it will just be for looks. My sons and I camp and fish so I could see needing it sometime.

I vote you keep it unless you need more functionality like a Gobi or Prinsu

It’s painted satin black. The hood scoop and both valances are paint matched.4F1548E2-57FD-44F4-BA64-4AA1A73007EE.jpg

The 20 pro comes with the black hood scoop part. Not sure if it has clearcoat, looks flat black to me. This one might be shiney as everything was ceramic coated

well I purchased two types of hood scoops. The one I used was for trucks pre 2019 as they were body color matched. This is the one I used and painted satin black. These needed to be painted as the texture on them is not smooth if left I painted.

The other scoop I have is just like in that picture. It has a sheen to it, but if you look at the back side .. there’s no sheen. But you can see over spray from the clear coat.
