About a couple of months ago I bought a 2010 4Runner Limited with 171K miles. Had it professionally inspected prior to purchase - never been off-road, plenty of evidence of being maintained well, but the xreas shocks were shot and leaking badly. With the pre-purchase inspection I was able to negotiate the price down for the shocks, and ended up replacing them myself with Bilsteins 5100's front/back (with 1" lift on front).

I already installed nerf bars (my wife greatly appreciates this!)

And since I got monthly camping with my son's boy scout troop, I am looking for a set of wheels/tires more "worthy" of trails, as these all seasons are great on the road and highway, but definitely the "weak" point in an otherwise very capable vehicle.

I got my eye set on a take-off set of these, if I can find them locally that is:

Looking forward to learning more here in the forum :)

    Welcome, Will!

    Great looking truck!

Keep your eyes on the B/S/T section here for some wheels. Also, there is a company that makes replicas of the PRO wheels, if you lose patience:)

There are probably some good tire options in the stock size as well, if you just want something more aggressive.

Not selling the Limited wheels. I literally want to have two sets of tires/wheels for my 4Runner.

And thanks, I am not in a hurry at all, so will be looking from time to time the B/S/T to see what I can find :)

    That's a great plan!

You can go as aggressive as you want with the off-road tires knowing that you won't have to deal with the road noise all of the time.

And, you can keep some nice quiet all seasons on the limited wheels.

    Best of both worlds!

Welcome. I know the limited isn't the top choice of model 4runners to mod but it still is a very capable off road machine. I have a 2013 Limited with TRD Pro wheels with 265/70 with Toyotec leveling kit. Just to get an idea of what it would look like with TRD Pro wheels and a 2.5 front/1 rear level spacers. I ended up replacing the Xreas shocks as two of them were leaking with 5100 Billstein front and back with a 2" Coil lift and took the spacers out as they were making a lot of noise. Much happier with this setup. Happy Modding.

Yup. The off-road setup would be great on those monthly camping trips :)

Wow, thank you so much for the reply with the pictures. Yours looks great :)

I forgot to mention, the other minor mods:
    - replaced "all" interior light bulbs with LED's (including a few external ones, like license plate)
    - Whethertech Custom Fit Floor Mats
    - 2500k Yellow fog light bulbs to replace the old/aging and white driving bulbs (pretty much as your in your picture above)
    - XenonDepot LED low beams (just this past weekend!)

The LED setup was so much brigther than stock that I inmediately started getting flashing from on-coming traffic. Basically, the 1" front lift had them already too high, but since the OEM bulbs are not that "bright" specially as they age, no-one complained. Once I put the LED's, everyone noticed!

I used this method to adjust mine:

If bright LED lighting every bothers you. (I just went into town,OMG, you can’t even see your lane from people running high power LEDs)lol You wear Yellow driving glasses. It filters out the annoying light....
