    Made a build thread for my 2015 4Runner Limited in Pearl White to give the limited some off road credibility. Second owner. Got the vehicle stock from a Toyota Dealership with 6,800 miles on it. All labor I have done myself or with an extra pair of hands when I needed the help. I am in no way mechanically inclined, but I can follow instructions. Also youtube is very helpful.

    List of mods in order are:
    ARB rear diff breather
    Pelfreybilt front bumper (steel)
    Warn M8000 winch
    Rigid Industries SAE D-Series fog lights
    Did some plastidiping
    Precision LED lighting kit for the interior and courtesy lights
    OME BP-51 3" lift with medium rear springs
    Total Chaos uniball UCA's
    Removed rocker trim
    Baja flat rack, sunroof cut out w/ insert
    Tepui Autana ruggedized RTT
    FN Six Shooter wheels 17" w/ BFG KM2's 285/70R17 (daily driver so I run the limited 20" when I'm not off roading)

    I love the work you've done on the limited! So many ppl are afraid to touch them or take them offraod. How do you like the OME BP-51 lift? How does it compare to xreas? When my xreas craps out that's the lift i'm interested in!

    Thank you. I got the 4Runner to use it, not going to leave it in the drive way for fear of getting it scratched. The BP-51's are amazing. Immediate improvement over the xreas. I have nothing against the xreas system. It worked well for a stock vehicle around town. However, it was not strong enough to handle all the added weight from the bumper and winch. I was bottoming out the suspension just going into a drive way. Plus the added clearance from 3" is a bonus. Only complaints I have with the system are I wish the steel braided hosing was longer, and potential aftermarket UCA compatibility. On the rear shocks, on full flex the torque twists the shock and pushes the hosing to where it makes slight contact with the frame. Its not under load so it is not an issue, just a nuisance. And on the front, in order to clear the zinc grease valves on my TC UCAs I had to slide the remote reservoirs forward and they make contact with the hard line for the radiator. Again, no issue, just something to keep in mind. Both problems might stem from my own incompetence. I did the install myself with no prior experience. So far there has been no problem and I am absolutely confident in my suspension decision and performance. I've driven in all sorts of terrain and it has shown no sign of fatigue. Would definitely recommend it. Haven't changed the valving yet, so can't comment on the adjustability of the compression/rebound. Will hopefully get to play with it soon. Also, note the system takes some time and weight to brake in. It will initially be very stiff, but will soften up after you flex it out a little bit.

    Thank you. They're great vehicles, and just as capable as the other 4Runners once you get past the trim.

    Would it be possible to see pics of the rockers close up? I want to take mine off aswell and add some n-fab step bats in their place. Just wondering how much would be visible after. I'm cheap and don't want to shell out for the trail rocker covers.

    Here you go. Hope this helps. You can't really see much except for in the front. But the added clearance for tires is excellent. I run 33's and did zero cutting. It also looks much more aggressive; no chrome and added clearance. Im sure if you get side steps it will cover up the look of the exposed metal. Although, you can't really tell unless you know where to look and what you're looking for. I ordered C4 sliders and will post updated picks once they arrive and I get them mounted.

    So exactly what are the "limits" to the Limited when it comes to off road? Asphalt and gravel only?

    I'd say performance wise they run between the SR5 and the TRD models. The vehicle is going to be more capable than the driver and do just about anything. Comes down to what you feel comfortable doing. It gets a performance edge because it has full time 4WD with a torsen limited slip diff in the center. However, the TRD models do come with a locking rear diff. Most people do not take them off road because of the excessive trim which will likely be damaged on a trail (purely cosmetic).

    i think you can get the "trail" rocker covers to clean it up.

    I have since added a cbi rear bumper with tire swing out, to accommodate a full size spare, and C4 rock sliders with side steps.

    I don't have any up to date photos, but I am going to death valley in a week and will be sure to snap a couple shots of the truck in action. Prove that it is a capable off roader. Weight, I have no clue... but a lot. I'd estimate around 750-850 lbs added fully loaded. You can tell the truck is heavier when driving. It isn't quick, but the engine can pull it up any incline. Mainly it was time to armor up. Cracked the plastic rear bumper off roading at Hollister Hills SVRA, and wanted sliders to protect the frame before I got around to damaging that.

    I am surprised it is only 750-850. I am planning on setting up mine very similar to the way yours is done, and I was assuming 1000-1200 additional, possibly up to 1500 when fully loaded with equipment. Not sure where you are located, but even empty mine struggles over the 10,000ft passes that I drive often. Kind of a bummer in that regard. Anyway, I like your truck. Look forward to watching the build progress.

    I know this is an old thread, but wow! That is a great looking limited! My wife an I lifted our 2018 limited, and are now in the process of vinyl wrapping the chrome on the grill. Can you still buy those bumpers?

    Yes that is correct. This isn’t plasti dip though, it’s an actual wrap (like a sticker).

    hey man that looks awesome! Quick question, when you swapped bumpers, what did you do with the parking sensors? Obv didn’t reuse them so does that leave a dash light on or throw any error codes?
