Would like to modify my 2003 4Runner by lifting 3” and adding stock 2016 Tacoma 17” rims. I heard that the rims would fit, but also heard that it’s not all about the lugs... rim might be thicker and touch brake calipers, control arm might be close, etc...

can anyone help? (Layman terms would be great!). Thanks in advance. Time is of the essence, as I have an apt to buy rims tomorrow!

Welcome, and i would say the 17”s should be fine. Maybe someone else can confirm.

P265/65R17 were the wheels and tires I had on a 2005 SR5 before I sold it, this appears to be the factory wheel/tire combination for the 2016 Tacoma.

wheel-size.com says the 2016 Tacoma and the 2005 4Runner have the same rim width, offset and PCD. If the 2003 is a 4th gen like the 2005, you are good to go.
