@Stew J just posted pics of his LED mod - which look great, but now I'm jealous and am having trouble finding some threads - or answers.

His new 4R has Hatch/Tailgate lights on the inside of his hatch...and I am wanting something like that...but no - the 4thGen(2007) doesn't have anything.

I was wanting to put like a Strip of RGB LED on the inside, below the window...and control colors, as needed from a simple remote, to tailgating - hunting - whatever...

But - where can I pull power from ? and - can I pull Constant power? (Engine off)

here is a pic of his lights..
Any ideas on the hackability - and difficulty in such, is appreciated.

Anyone? NO one has a suggestion on getting lights to the tailgate hatch on a 4thGen ?

You can get led’s and a switch from Amazon. Constant power will likely have to come from an add-a-fuse which can plug into your fuse panel under the driver side kick panel.

I haven't investigated into the wiring in my 2nd gen much but what about the existing wiring for the trailer hitch? I'm a little redneck and if I was doing it and it was found possible I'd convert a couple of the existing wires from the engine and add a dash switch for the inner lights then pull from the driving lights in the back to create an activation circuit for the hitch while driving lights are on. I always have my lights on though so it'd work for me, just a spitball I suppose. The extent of my electrical knowledge is also just small electronics repair lol... I also consider this 95 a beater though idk the state of your rig.
