whats up everyone! my TRD OR is a work in progress and everyone here has been real helpful. I'm looking to add window deflectors and would like your opinion. I bought a set of AVS visors from Amazon that stick on using 3m tape; i ended up returning them cause the visor itself did not properly fitup to the window, they were about 1/2" off. I was looking into in channel visors but getting mixed reviews; Looking for straight up effn honest opinion, lol.

I can’t live without them. I got hooked when I was smoker and now I just love the fresh air. That being said, my in-channel visors get in the way about 5% of the time when rolling them after EXTENDED periods of time with the window down. When the windows, all of them, hit a restriction they automatically retract, forcing you to pull the visor out of the way while you roll it up. I also feel I didn’t install them perfectly causing this, so perfect installation is key in my opinion.
Also, if you have had your 4Runner any period of time you have noticed that condensation or washer fluid loves to roll in mid-window height both sides, visors will keep that crap out of your face with the window cracked.

what brand did you go with? im already having issues with my window sometimes retracing on its own due to crappy window tint service; but i am looking to get window visors for winter driving and the occasional puff.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I have WeatherTech inside channel deflectors and really like them. Fit is perfect and I like how they look. There is an increase in noise on the highway but I'm getting used to it. It's really not that bad.

I have the AVS stick on kind that is probably similar to what you bought and returned. I like them even though I let mine sit around the garage a long time before installing and one of them is kind of deformed. I did not want the in channel kind due to previous experience with them eventually wearing out the channel they fit into. These aren't as nice looking as the in channel but I feel they function better than the in channel kind and I usually choose function over form. YMMV.

    Yeah i agree with functionality.

I know what you mean; i had put the AVS visor on before i returned it and wasn't feeling it. Giving it another shot, haha.

I had the AVS stick on installed and was a bit disappointed that it will not do anything for wind or dust (when off road) or even rain will drop directly on the door (just where all the electric window controls are).
I just left them on because they look cool and I'm lazy!

I have the AVS in-channel ones on mine. installed really easy. only gripe I have is they're a little noisy above maybe 50 mph. I usually tune the noise out after a minute or two but always notice it when I first get going. Had the same visors on my old Blazers and I don't recall any noise issue before.
