Newbie to the 4Runner clan. Call me Lucky!!!!!

My new acquisition is a 1994 with only 63,400 miles on it. yep, I said that right...all original. It truly is the product of a little old lady, (My neighbor) who only drove it back and forth to the grocery store. She is now 93 and the doctor said she can't drive any more. When her husband was alive, he used it to get to his favorite fishing spot, but passed sadly, about 10 years ago. in that 10 years, sh may have put 500 miles on it per year, but faithfully had the fluids changed, and well maintained.

The last 3 years, it did just sit in her garage, with her starting it up on occasion. My wife and I did most of her errands for her, and took her to the store when her niece couldn't help out. So I got lucky when she and the family decided to sell it. It's got some quirks, like the right Mirror doesn't adjust with the electric switch, because I think she knocked it off and it wasn't repaired right. Visually, you can't tell, the electronic switch just doesn't work for it. The Radio is horrible, speakers in and out, especially when the volume is turned, but other than that....clean as a whistle. I am loving it. I have been learning about the Head gasket issue at about 100K. Is there a way to prevent that issue? I really love reading everybody's input to all the questions. a Great forum. Clean 4runner! Welcome. As for the head gasket issue I would look into ARP headstuds. I used them when rebuilding the 3.0 in my 92 Toyota pickup and haven't had any head gasket issues since. I would also look into doing the exhaust crossover delete.
