Hey 4runner peeps, front end on my 1990 4X4 5SPD 4runner got crunched up by my daughter. I have had a difficult time finding parts for it, so bought a bunch of aftermarket parts from various places. As you can imagine, fitment and looks are lacking, at best. Core support, radiator, grille, lights and bumper all replaced, but its ugly as sin now. I came across a 92 2WD Auto on CL for $300 with a blown tranny, so I bought it immediately. The whole front clip is near perfect besides paint. I'm sure anyone taking the time to read this is already thinking about the difference in the two years and, yes, they are quite different. I understand there may be some slight work into getting the grille etc to fit, but am up to it. What I'm really wondering here is have any of you done the fenders, hood grill, and bumper swap that im thinking about doing? And second question, what parts should I absolutely keep from the 92 for future use? Also, thank you to anyone that reads this and responds.

    Ken

Nothing that I should absolutely keep huh? I guess I'll just part it for what I need and scrap the rest.

Hi Ken,If you were me I'd be keeping as much of the good parts as I can unless you're not planning on hanging onto your 1990.I always find spare trim, factory screws and those little color coded discs that sit on top of them, nuts n bolts, trim clips, diffs, switches ,relays (particularly the rear window controller behind rear left trim),rear window wiper motor and mechanism, sunroof motor, window motors and the like are handy to have and don't take up a lot of workshop space to store.....but thats just me,I'm a bit of a hoarder :)
